If you haven't had a chance to see it, I have your image up as background now at enterthemaelstrom.com . It looks most excellent.
Was wondering if you might be okay with me using the same image as background on business card stock for the website. Woah there...it looks very realistic, and I like how the iris' details are as sharp as the skull's, it really gives a sense of unity.
Although I suggest some minor colour change in the skull - its colour is just a tad warmer than the iris'. My suggestion is to either desaturate it a tad or cool it down.
But maybe that's just me

I also think the color of the skull is off. Oddly enough I did desaturate it all the way. Since the problem is noticeable I'll probably go back and add a slight blue tint to it so that way it doesn't look so 'warm'. Good eye

Some images just have a different tint in them that somehow shows in the gray after desaturation.
