Let me begin:

This shot is definitely hard to get, so you must have taken a lot of time to get this shot. Now, with the backround, it is very hard to see the definite line between the cat and the backround. However, I do like the lighting and black 'n white.

Perhaps try to lighten up the backround? Good luck!

Here are some ideas for lighting that I have done with my own cat photography:

Sunlight:

Dim ceiling light:

Just remember to use "natural light" such as ceiling lights, sunlight, or lamps. Using flash on a camera or bulky lights can hurt a cats eyes because they take in a lot of light.
