The fallen body of his brother at his feet, Megaman removed his helmet and began to walk away from the fortress. With eyes full of rage, Megaman looked over the whole of Mankind, turned his eyes back to the robot army and lowered his head. Slowly, he loosened his grip on his battle-scarred helmet, letting it drop from his hand to the ground.

I was bored of Zuko but still having fun editing pictures (this one is mostly desaturation to get more of that post-apocalyptic, oppressed feel), so I decided to take a jaunt into Megaman's folder.

This costume is based of the Protomen's rock opera of a dystopian Megaman universe. If you like rock and Megaman, you should give it a listen, and have the lyrics at hand. The excerpt above is from their self-titled album, the song "Sons of Fate." My friend made himself a Protoman based off this, so I gave them a listen and decided to make a partnering Megaman (Mega's better than Proto anyway ~is shot~).

This costume was silly easy to make, which is why I categorized in photography rather than artisan crafts. I bought boy jeans and a shirt and trenchcoat and dyed/altered/beat them up. The not-pictured arm cannon is made of PVC pipes and an LED tap light, and the helmet is a motorcycle helmet. The crest can be removed so that I can still use it to ride (there was no damage done to the helmet when I modified it). It's getting an armor and EL upgrade, but those haven't happened yet. The damage, of which you can see a bit on the jeans, was done with cars, thorn bushes, a shotgun and a pistol with widecutter rounds (proper gun safety was observed). Unfortunately, the shot with my bullet-holed trenchcoat billowing in the wind did not come out as clear as this one. ;_;
