Nightmare Moon of my AU.

In this AU, Nightmare Moon is not feared like she used to be. Instead, she is a Goddess that is widely worshipped. She is the matron deity of Thestrals, the Moon, the Night, and the Guardian of Dreams. Her worshipers are mostly of Thestrals and ponies who live in sanctuaries underneath the faith of the Moon and the Eventide Empire. Her worshippers call her "The Goddess of Nightmares", though many other names have been given to her by those that fear or revere her. These names include "Eternal Empress of the Night" and "Mistress of the Night".

Her religion has spread across Equlasia and beyond. The faithful flock to her temples from as far away as Luna's own empire, bringing gifts of offerings such as gems, crystals, and other precious resources. They pray for protection against nightmares, believing that she will protect them from their fears. Some believe her power extends even farther than just protecting them from nightmares, and can grant them dreams of peace and tranquility when they sleep. Others believe that she grants dreams of death and destruction in order to punish those who would seek vengeance on others.

In some places, she is seen as a symbol of hope for people suffering from dark times. While she still carries the same qualities that made her fearsome in her youth, she has softened over time. She has become more known as a gentle goddess, one that does not judge the hearts of her followers. She sees herself as a mother figure to all that ask for her aid, whether they mean it out of love or fear. In these ways, she is now revered as an elder motherly figure rather than a terrifying and dangerous matron goddess.
