How You Think They Met:

Having started working, finally, at the Capitol’s Library. Harvest Sunrise has had a total of 8 accidents in the span of her first week on the job. Her seniors and co-workers all had the sense she should quit, at least that's the whispers she’d hear as she passed some of them going about her work.

Her last incident involved a rather rare tome and an accidental magic spark causing the book to burn(at least half of it). By no means was it a particular magic book or something like that, but still a very important history book on the royal family. One that is shared to the public, used in schools and the like for pony kind to research and remember the family's deeds.

Harvest, having been scolded for her accident and made to, from that moment on. to wear a magic horn ring that would keep her magic sealed at work, often took her lunch in a private room where against her bosses demand, she took off the ring to rewrite the tome. What she hasn’t told others is that she has a near perfect memory and has taken it upon herself to make a new book, as the library is still waiting on approval to get a new one. She overheard that it would take a few months at the earliest so made it her mission to fix her mistake even if others would find out about her memory.

She alway kept it secret as her father, Dark Raid, feared others would try to use Harvest or harm her if she ever came across something she shouldn’t have.

She was nearly done with the book, doing a little each day on her lunch break. That morning the library was partially crowded as an event was going on that weekend and everyone came early to Canterlot. She didn’t even notice that she was being watched. That day happened to be the day Accident number 9 took place. A couple of children were being, well children, and playing around. Harvest was up on the ladder putting books away by hoof (as she was still required to wear the ring), one of the kids knocked into her ladder pushing it off the shelves wheel bars and taking her with it. When she got up off the floor she saw that the kids were gone and about 3 shelves of books had either fallen on her or on the floor around her. Luckily no one else had gotten caught in the mess but Harvest was scolded heavily again and made to take her lunch break early. Saddened, she obeyed, and left while her co-workers began cleaning up. A couple sent some dirty looks but said nothing as she passed but she was almost done with the tome. She thought she could use this time to finish making it.

Getting to work once the door closed behind her, she hadn’t noticed the figure that was watching earlier had made his way into the room after her. He watched her as she worked and when Harvest finished spoke, “What are you making?” Startled, she turned to her clutching the tome to her chest. The stallion read the cover and with a slight hint of surprise, “Canterlot’s Royal sister’s of History?”

Harvest stuttered nervously as she answered looking away from the colt, “Y-yes, I was-s tyring to f-fix an o-old mistake..” The colt took the book and flipped through some of the pages, reading different sections of the tome to check it’s accuracy.

“Word for Word… Impressive.” he stated. “Looks just like the real one… except for the bit on the title page.” He pointed to said page. “Why did you write “Copy of the original” on it? You could have passed it off as the original and the only pony that would know otherwise would be an authenticator.” He passed the book back. She took it and placed the tome on the table.

No longer stuttering she answered, “That wouldn’t be legal and my father raised me better…” She still couldn’t really look the stallion in the eyes. “I hate disappointing him..” she said truthfully smiling at the colt.

I imagine the royal family would at some point find out about the book burning and send someone to investigate Harvest Sunrise. I imagine at first Nightfall wouldn’t be too happy with the news of his family’s history book being ruined and want to take the investigation on himself only to find out it really was an accident and that Harvest Sunrise’s memory is quite excellent. Possibly beginning his week(timely) visit to the library to see Harvest then at some point someone would confess and the other would suggest a date.
