I actually planned this photo! I watched the sunrise most mornings and thought about how lovely it would be to get a shot of a sparrow at sunrise!

So I got up just as sunrise started when you could only faintly see the circle of the sun, and as I did most mornings, I put some bread out onto the balcony ready for when the sparrows arrive! I put some on top of the railings. Then I moved the chair so it would be in the right place for the picture and got my camera ready and sat down.

The birds came as they always did and fed, I must have waited for about half an hour for one to land on the railing and I was going *snap*snap*snap* ...this was by far the best!

I didn't think at the time that the bird would just come out as a shadow...but personally I like it like that
