so cute<3
my father lived near the forest and had his rat loose, and a wild rat mated with her and father asked me to take care of the babys, and its just as you say, they behave like normal domestic rats!
exept they got darker feets and more skill in fx climbing

I had a wild rat that I got from the pound (apparently in Albuquerque, NM you can catch rats and give them to the animal shelter) and he never became completely tame and would bite if you tried to take him out of his cage. He got along fine with domestic rats though. He probably was taken out of the wild as an adult.

Wow, such a lucky little guy for you to have found him. I have yet to even see wild rat in person and have learned they are still very different from our "fancy rats" but he/she just looks so happy <3

thats pretty funny, that you were able to keep him like that. i dont think i would even try to keep a while rat (but if i found the baby on the road like you did, i would move it off to a safer area)
