Description
As I commuted into town, I stopped to view a Blue Heron drinking out of the local Greasy Creek. Placing the bicycle aside on the grasses near the road, I crept back to take a photo, trying not to be observed.

Impossible.

Shooting from the hip I grabbed an in flight quickie, but the framing excluded most of the bird, who settled onto some limbs further downstream. Then I quickly shot another, and the great bird was gone.

It might appear I had time to place the bird within my chosen frame, but this is only the saving effort of severe cropping.
