Description This is what a "real watch" looks like inside. Made in 1922 by the Illinois Watch Company, of Springfield, Illinois, USA. The movement was machined to a fine finish and the winding barrels were polished all because of the pride the company had in their product. These finishings were not seen by the owner, only the watch repairmen when it was serviced every 25 years. Still running fine today. The company closed in 1948 and was purchased by Hamilton Watch Co.

As I was appraising some watches, I took the time to quickly photograph for the insurance documents. Using only ambient light from the apartment, I hand held the image, using my macro feature on the Leica D-Lux 5 digital pocket camera.

As always you may download this image, but give me photo credit.

Fabulous watch! But why would you want one of these when you can check the time on your phone?!?

This is really awesome. Old, antique things are always so amazing; firstly because they are old, and have history behind them, and secondly because we don't make things like that anymore, and it is a shame. Considering that you didn't have the time to make this the way you wanted it, I think it came out great. I love the royal blue that contrasts the metal.
