Description
Bloomington, Indiana, USA is known for its limestone rock quarries. A feature length movie "Breaking Away" was filmed in the area with the rock quarries playing a pivotal role in the film, a right of passage movie of growing up and out.

I had never found where they were until a road trip took me to an exit and as I was routed to the highway, I passed this group of abandoned huge blocks of rock, left for whatever reason. I pulled off and meandered until I found a compositon I liked.

But that's not the reason for this image posted today. I have been assisting many dA artists on my interpretation of cropping and editing. I used this image as an example. Below is my original image, which had always left me a bit unsatisfied, until now.

I removed distractions on both right and left, top and bottom. I always add a border, as it improves the image, but mainly to cleanly position the edges where I want them.

I hope to someday return to re-shoot in the winter with a covering of snow.
