Description
I passed a field of corn, too tall to shoot through or above. I wanted the farm structure to be the center focus point. I extended my monopod to full height, then stood it on a guard rail post I felt too risky to stand on. As I raised the camera I could only point and guess where the picture would be focused and framed. Releasing on self timer, I would hold the monopod straight and steady, point, then check the shot, only to try again. I took about a dozen and this was the best, except it was clearly off horizon by about 30 degrees. I could correct that.

Even at 1/8000th a second, so many of the attempts were motion blurred at the long focal length, amplified by the height extension.
