When he returned he smelled of ale and spirits, but the she-elf took little heed in where he had been.
"Zerah, my pet." He said loosening the strings on his tunic and dropping his muscular frame into the chair before her. "Is there any of that hearty stew you put on left?"
She continued sewing with out speaking to him, her long ears were dropped down in displeasure.
"Zerah, I asked you a question." The half-elf leaned forward and looked at his companion.
"Is this why you brought me here Hawkeye?" Zerah asked looping the needle in the shirt. "To cook your meals and stitch your clothes? Surly I am your fighting companion, a warrior at your side but am I just a maid to you in this homestead?"
The she elf threw the shirt she was mending to bench where she sat before she stood and towered over her half-elf companion.
"Have I upset you by my drinking Zerah? Surly it isn't the philandering, I've been a cad since your childhood." The half elf, looked up at her from his seat.
The She-elf, Zerah, placed her milk white hands on her hips and sighed. "I don't care about your drinking, drink the whole of Kronam dry! And your philandering is of no concern to me!" She was very near shouting now. "But you surly must see I'm not a girl any more, I am not just your maid and I am more than just a warrior, Hawkeye, I'm a woman. I have my needs too.""You can not keep me here to mend your garb and expect me to faithfully watch your back in battle when there is no reward."
Hawkeye stood now, an eyebrow quirked. "Rest assured Zerah, I have duly noted that you have become a fine woman." With that he scooped his arms around her and caught her lips in a fiery kiss. "If you wanted reward and enticement you only should have asked."

A brief conversation between the Half-Elf Hawkeye and his traveling companion Zerah.
Zerah and Hawkeye are characters in a novel I'm writing, in the novel they were both born to priestess of a fallen elf land and were constantly trained to help reclaim the city.
This scene is set after the city had been won and now Zerah and Hawkeye have moved on to become mercenaries seeing as they feel no real tie to the city.
Hawkeye being a good deal older than Zerah though treats her as a child still and in this scene Zerah confesses she wants to be treated more like a woman than his girl when at the home.
