Does anyone else think this looks like Atticus Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird? 'Cause I do. I saw it in the DC gallery and went: ?

*Jumps in front of art.* No, don't look at this! It's so old and gross. xD

Nice. Thing is as the Dean Caine Superman said in Lois and Clark "Clark Kent is who I am. Superman is just what I can do". Which is very true though I do believe that Clark exaggerates the bumbling country boy stereotype at the Daily Planet as an extra layer of disguise so nobody twigs that he's more than he appears, let alone the fact that he's got superpowers.

Well, I always think in my mind that Clark Kent is his real identity, and Superman the disguise — kind of the reverse of the Bruce Wayne/Batman deal. Or maybe, that they're both equally valid and natural aspects of him. The idea of Clark Kent being nothing but a front for Superman just doesn't ring as true — I suppose I'm really, really underexposed to pre-Crisis material.
Anyhow, the picture is really, really good. I agree — the tinted glasses are a brilliant idea. I really like the way he's innocently adjusting his tie here, like he's been out stopping a train wreck or something and just changed back a couple seconds ago.

I feel the same way you do. Superman is but a piece of his real personality. However, I feel Clark has three different personalities - there's Mr. Kent, the bumbling reporter who works at the Planet, Superman, the stranger from another world who's confident and idealistic, and there's just Clark Kent, the humble farmboy from Kansas - his most simplistic but certainly his genuine identity. :]
Thank you so very much for the fantastic comment.

I saw one comic in which Clark wore a suit that was a bit too tight so that he ended up looking flabby, I liked that concept, even though I also like yours.

One thing you have to remember is that Clark is a big man, and that ceraitn suits if not fitted properly, end up being too big in some places and too small in others. Complete with tiny glasses, nervous guy hunch, sheepish facial expression and "my ma combed my hair for picture day" hairstyle, Clark was able to go in to jail for an interview with Lex Luther and get called a big flabby moron, In the case of Superman that would be an accomplishment.

Well that's good. I say that most of my Watchers are angry because they appreciate my creature art, and most creature artists aren't big fans of superhero stuff. Hehe.
