Lois & Clark. I like it in the movies when these two get lodged in the revolving door because Clark won't wait his turn. xD Cracks me up.
It sucks that I can't pull off any "serious" drawings with this couple. I wish I could, but I'm not very good at romance - at all. Awkwardness is easier to translate to paper.
Man, the lineart for this was started more than a week ago. I'm so glad I finally got this crazy thing done!
You all get to view more of my icky background and architecture skills. It's supposed to be a revolving door... that was drawn without any references. The shines and reflective surfaces were also made without references, which should tell you that perhaps none of it is very true-to-life. Despite how much I improvised on everything, and the strange vibes I'm getting from the anatomy (Lois looks weird to me and Clark's hand looks kind of big) and BG perspectives (lopsided handles), I'm liking this pic at the moment. :] Dude, I got through the whole drawing without putting a single thumb in it. I'm awesome.
Unfortunately, Kent's expression didn't come out as goofy as I intended. ]: Darn. Fedora poweeeerrrrrrr.
I decided to 'upgrade' Superman's disguise by giving him brown-tinted lenses so he can effectively hide his otherwise obnoxious eye color. Pffft. It's interesting that the overlap is making them look silvery gray. Clark, you're a genius! They'll never suspect you now. Never mind the jet-black hair, broad shoulders, ridiculous height and clef chin. xP
Who is that ominous figure next to Clark's elbow? SLENDERMANNNNNN?

That's what I like to say. You never know how ignorant you can really be until you're actually in that situation. It's hard to judge. Hiding in plain sight has been historically effective. :]
Or we can just owe it to comic book magic. Either way, these two are pure gold.

I always love it when Clark is such a klutz at things. No one can suspect who he really is because of it. No one would think a dingbat like him would be the strongest guy on the planet. That's one of the things I love about Christopher Reeve. He really performed the whole role between Superman and Clark Kent perfectly. The best part is when he comes into Lois' apartment, glasses, suit, and slouched shoulders, she goes into the next room, and he takes off his glasses and stand up straight. Ta-da. He's no longer Clark Kent, he's Superman. A perfect performance.
I also love the line Bruce Wayne says to Superman in the Batman/Superman movie. "She likes Bruce Wayne and she likes Superman. It's the other two guys she's not crazy about."
And Superman says, "It's too bad we can't mix and match."

I always get the feeling that Clark really isn't fooling anyone in Smallville OR at the Planet, that his disguise is pretty much just so that he's not mobbed by people trying to get him to sign babies, and that Lois should REALLY just have a plot point where we see that she just has trouble recognizing people in general (as she currently just seems like a colossal idiot for not seeing this earlier). I also suspect that if Perry ever openly acknowledged that Clark was Superman, his attitude would only adjust in that he would be slightly pissed that Clark was out saving kittens while he needed to see him in his office.
Also, I really love Lois' expression in this picture.

I agree! That's why I love Reeve's Superman movie so much. It emboldened the possibilities of Clark being more of an inelegant and awkward guy instead the more assertive version he started out as. Makes for a better disguise. Thank you for the lovely comment. <3
