GIMP is a pain to draw in, but it is incredibly useful for enhancing images! It's super clunky, though, right?! It hacks me off!! I've never used photoshop, so can't really "draw" a comparison... ahahahahahahapuns.
Yes, having a working tablet makes a huuuuuge difference to digital art in general! I don't know what like the pen tool is in photoshop (I could never get my head around the GIMP one) but if you can get the hand of it, it's possible to draw things with even just a mouse if needs be! It does give nice crisp, smooth lines if you can master it The Sai version is incredibly easy to use.
Heh, yeah you and me both... it's a shame, there were a lot of really exciting things going on! The choir I'm a member of was meant to be performing in front of David Attenborough at a conference in a few weeks time. Super gutted about that! Would have been amazing to meet him, as he's my hero! <3 Good thing there are so many online projects, and people streaming stuff like craft ideas, musical tutorials, baking, cooking. There's a wealth of stuff becoming more prominent online! (I've taken an interest in gardening, growing food from food scraps XD It's like my little practical science project!)
Heh, absolutely -- Google is how I learned everything I know about art programmes XD Sometimes it just takes the right explanation of something, and it can help to know what to look for! There are so many tools, I still have no idea what they are XD (And may not ever need them, but it frustrates me to eventually learn that there's an easier way of doing something when I've been doing it the hard way!)
