this movie helped me shape my style so much, and still does to be honest. i think prince nuada was my first fictional crush and hot damn i guess he still is. i've wanted to paint him for years, so he'll get to be the first painting of 2015! these colour schemes are so on point i just can't let it go.

thank you so much!! i almost always use a default brush in ps, it's a thick bristle brush in the thick heavy section!

i used to paint with a simple round brush all the time, and i still do occasionally! my stuff tend to look a lot harder and cleaner with the round brush, and this more textured brush that i'm using now makes everything softer and muddier and i really love the effect. i don't switch around much, i find it hard using several brushes in one piece, so i just stick with one! good luck!

I watched this film today and that's pretty well fitting!
But I am confused, I am unsure if I feel he's sexy or not. I never liked him but this time I thought he maybe is.

well, i saw this movie pretty young and even then i thought he was the sexiest ever haha. i think it's his strange androgynous beauty that makes me like him so much? he's just like a lot of characters i'd like to draw and his design really did inspire me wholly and fully. i don't know if this is so any kind of explanation but it's always kinda hard to explain why you think a character is hot? obviously there are more thing than just his appearance too, his voice, his role as an estranged fairy prince, i mean, themes that i really enjoy. i just.. really, really adore him haha!

I am so happy to see that Prince Nuada was your fictional crush and inspiration because he was always mine as well. I just loved his markings, baring, and manner. He was amazing. Of course, I tend to biased to elves so, uh, maybe that helped as well.
But moving on to your artwork--it is gorgeous! I am sure you get tired of my gushing but this is a beautiful work of art and I am glad to see high quality fanart for one of my favorite anti-heroes. You did a fabulous job of capturing his elegant, quiet manner while still holding onto his dignity and stately gaze.

Neither can I; I tried to find some of him on DA awhile ago but to no true avail. So when I saw this I think my heart jumped in my chest a little in happiness. Indeed, Del Toro does an excellent job at character designs and concepts. Pacific Rim is a good example of creature designs that are amazing to look at. Hellsing as well, of course.
