Description Rosalie’s Wish
They sat on a blanket looking up at the stars. It wasn’t a lookout over the city, it was in the woods. Out here the city lights were to far away to blind and they could see millions of stars. Both of them were silent. Rosalie took advantage of the time to zone out. She let her mind race. From star to star, thought to thought.
*“I wish I didn’t remember anything.” Rosalie sighed.*
“Why?” asked West, he sounded a little frightened.
Rosalie sighed again; she hated the tone his voice had taken, should’ve known not to speak her thoughts aloud.
“So, I didn’t have to remember the bad things in life. Start anew.” She answered, hoping that the explanation would calm him down.
“Yeah, but then you wouldn’t remember me.” West murmured.
“You’re not a bad thing in my life. I would remember you.” Rosalie said.
“That’s not what you said. You said that you didn’t want to remember anything.” West whined.
“It’s just a wish West, it’s not that big of a deal.”
“Do you want to forget about me?” West asked.
“No, West, I don’t want to forget you.” Rosalie replied, her annoyance coming though clearly.
“Yes, you do.” West said, pushing himself away from Rosalie.
“No, I don’t.”
“You don’t sound like you mean it.”
“That’s because I’m annoyed West. Why do you have to make everything I say against you?”
There was a silence. One didn’t have to be a relationship expert to know why.
“It’s just...” West started.
“Take me home, West.” Rosalie finished, standing up.
“Look, I’m sorry. Your right, I shouldn’t have freaked out like that.” West spoke softly, reaching out for Rosalie’s hand.
Rosalie withdrew her hand. Then, seeing the hurt look on his face, she put in on his cheek.
“Just take me home, West.”
She walked past him to the car, biting the inside of her bottom lip to hold back to tears. West got in a few seconds later. Rosalie kept her eyes forward. West looked at her from the driver’s seat and he reached for her hand, again. Rosalie pulled it away, again. She cast an angry look at West. She wasn’t really angry at him she just didn’t want him to try to make it better.
“Quit acting like a child.” West said angrily.
Wrong thing to say to Rosalie, in a flurry of angry movement she had flung herself into the back seat. West continued to stare at her. By now Rosalie’s tears had broken though and were streaming down her face. West eyes blinked a few times. He shook his head and turned himself to face the dash. He had pictured Rosalie in the back seat, with him. *Not crying and eyeing him like he was a hunter and she was some animal caught in a trap.*
