Description Most days were the same at the Eden Foundation.

Haru didn’t run as fast as her sisters did, they were all taller and had longer legs than her, and she’d get distracted. The jogging track ran around most of the facility, and like the rest of the facility it was dimly lit and in disrepair; on one side the shell of the biodome could always be seen with the harsh environment of Callisto on the outside. As Haru jogged she passed the dorm rooms, the garden where the food was grown, and the doors where the men in the white coats came from. Towards the end of exercise time she had made it to the kitchen area, it seemed more gray than usual as a light had gone out.

Haru asked one of her sisters to help get a bowl down from the lowest shelf in the kitchen, which she filled with oat cereal from a dispenser on the counter. Haru didn’t really like cereal for breakfast, but the men in the white coats told her it was to "balance her day”. She eyed some of her sisters’ breakfast enviously, especially if they had fruit or scrambled eggs. Imagining the oats were tastier Haru finished eating and decided to go to the relaxation center. On the way out, Haru caught up to one of her sisters, a skinny girl, only a bit taller than Haru herself, with pink and blue dreadlocks.

“Hey Kyra, would you come with me to the relaxation center? I want you to work your magic on my lower back,” asked Haru.

“Sure sis, you having a rough day?” replied Kyra.

“I’ve been doing the exercises to strengthen my back, but I’m still a bit sore.”

“I’m not surprised! Those monsters are bigger than my head,” Kyra said while gesturing to Haru’s chest. Haru blushed and attempted to cover herself more than her bra could.

They walked through the hallway past the garden center. “Have you ever wondered what it’s like outside?” asked the red-haired sister.

“Cold, no matter which way you go, outside of the dome it’s always snowing,” answered Kyra.

“I know that! I meant like when we get chosen by a customer,” added Haru.

“I’ve only heard rumors but from the sounds of them, the chosen get to live on something called a ‘colony’ with whoever chose them, it’s a place that helps bring life to new worlds. But there’s a bad place too, I heard that if you get captured by ‘the A-lions’ they take you to a place called ‘Urth’!” Kyra shook a bit as she finished.

Once they arrived at the dull grey relaxation center, they found an empty massage table, which wasn’t hard this early in the day. Haru removed her top and laid herself down on the table, Kyra got a container of warming oil from a nearby drawer and began spreading it across Haru’s back.

“Not as many knots today, you’re right about the exercises helping,” mentioned Kyra.

“The white coats told me it would help my posture too,” added Haru.

Haru let the gentle movements relax her muscles and she even started to fall asleep. But this didn't last for long, Haru suddenly found herself stunned out of her nap by a painful slap on her rear, she turned to see Kyra remove a hand from one of her buttocks.

“What was that for?” Haru whined.

“No sleeping while I’m working,” Kyra said with a playful smile.

One of the men in the white coats entered the room and told the girls to get ready. “A customer is on their way, so everyone is to return to their rooms and put something nice on. Remember, best behavior,” the man said with a soft tone and a smile.

Haru waited for the man to leave before sitting up and putting her top back on.

“Kyra, who do you think they’ll choose?” she asked, brimming with excitement.

“You can never tell,” Kyra smiled

“Who got chosen last?”

“Kana Koda,” said the younger sister.

“I’m so bad, remind me who she is?”

“Green hair, she had ‘cat’ ears, no boobs,” Kyra added.

“Wait does that make you the new smallest?” Haru teased.

“Hey! No! Mine are still bigger than Pina’s!”

Haru chuckled as her sister’s blush turned her as pink as her hair.
When they reached Kyra’s room, Kyra asked her sister if she wanted to “help each other out?” with their dresses.

Haru went a few doors down to her own room, grabbed her red dress and brought it back to Kyra’s room. Haru went first, changing into her dress, stuffing her bra straps into the top and prompting Kyra to zip up the back.

“Why’d you pick this one?” Asked Kyra.

“I wanted it to match my hair,” answered Haru.

“Well, if the name of the game is matching Haru’s hair, then I’ll wear my yellow dress to match that stripe,” Kyra teased as she got her yellow dress out and started putting it on.

“I don’t think that’s how it works, but if it makes you happy,” Haru grabbed the zipper and pulled it up for her sister.

“Hey, we look good! We’re almost out of time, back to your room!” Kyra commanded, pushing Haru out the door.

Neither of them would have to wait for long.

———————————————————

After a few minutes Haru’s door opened, and the man in the white coat from earlier stood next to a man dressed in a black suit. Haru felt a shiver run up her spine as a tingly warmth spread through her stomach in reaction to the man in the suit, the look in his eyes indicated authority. She wanted to climb him but knew to hold still for this part.

“Tell me about this one,” commanded the man in the suit.

“All of them have been conditioned with commands relating to the tasks they were designed for. Mostly intimacy, others are caretakers or entertainers. This is our Harem and Reproductive Unit Code-0. Twenty-four years of age, a compact one-hundred-thirty-seven centimeters tall with a twenty-eight H bust,” he had dropped his soft tone from earlier. “She has red and yellow hair without dye, green eyes without lenses, and she was also designed with various anomalous qualities listed in the pamphlet.”

“I don’t think so... show me some others.”

The door closed as the two men walked away. Haru was disappointed, she had heard that the girls chosen by one of the customers got to live in castles, travel the stars, and eat whatever they liked. Haru could hear muffled speech as the men examined the other girls, she dropped herself into her chair and yelped as she had accidentally sat on her hair. Haru reached for a brush and pulled her red and yellow hair out from under her, she brushed her hair while imagining what life might be like outside of the Eden Foundation. Later, there was an announcement that the girls could return to other activities.

———————————————————

Haru went to Kyra’s room only to find it empty, not entirely empty, all of Kyra’s clothes and bedding were there, but no Kyra. Some of the other girls filtered into the hallway and saw Haru stunned, standing by the door.

“It was Kyra Kodo!” someone shouted down the corridor.

Haru collapsed, both glad for her best friend and sister, but at the same time experiencing the greatest loss of her life.

“Kyra got chosen...” she whispered to herself, “lucky brat...”

Haru thought back to times when they would dance or help each other when one was in trouble, even if it was mostly Kyra in trouble Haru was going to miss her.

The next hour saw all of Kyra’s things packed by the men in the white coats, and carried away. Soon a pair of twin girls arrived to move into the room, Haru still beside the door with tears running down her face stood up and turned to walk toward the kitchen. Haru got a kettle from under the sink and filled it with water to boil for tea, as she set it on the stovetop a loud shattering sound filled the air. Haru checked the kettle to see if she had broken it when the doors slammed themselves closed, lights dropped from the ceiling and began to flash red and made a horrible screaming sound.

Haru panicked and pounded her fists against the door, she spun around looking for a way to escape, the other doors were sealed also, the window to the garden was open but too small to climb through. Haru pulled a chair from the table to the window, stood on it and looked through the window to see the garden in the same condition, sealed with screaming red lights. Haru climbed down and dragged the chair back to the table, she hid under the table and pulled the chair into place. Haru made herself as small as she could curled up under the table, but still trying to peek around the chair legs. She could see a dark green fog seeping in under the doors, it got closer and closer until it reached the table. Haru tried to move the chair to get out from under the table, but only made it a couple feet. The fog tingled on her skin, she was having trouble moving, each inch she crawled forward got more difficult until she couldn’t move at all. Haru stared at the door watching the angry lights flash above it, there was a loud knock at the door and then another, by the third knock the door fell over.

———————————————————

A muscular man in a uniform Haru didn’t recognize stepped into the room, he looked over the area before walking toward Haru’s collapsed form. He lifted her into his arms and she got a glimpse of his face, his violet eyes, medium blue hair, and some kind of mask over his mouth. Haru felt the warmth of his muscled arms, she felt the warmth spread through her before her neck lost its battle with gravity and she got to watch the grey ceilings as he carried her away. She hadn’t stared at the ceilings before, not long enough to notice the stains or cracks at least. After a few minutes of grey ceilings she saw the biodome next but with one dangerous difference.

There was a massive hole torn in it, with nothing but a faint glow filling the gap!

Haru tried to warn the man, to tell him that the men in the white coats needed to do something or the snow would get in and everyone would freeze, but when she tried the only sound that came out was a raspy groan. The man kept walking until Haru recognized the door to the hangar. “The customers come from the hangar, have I been chosen? But what about the others? The dome is broken!” she thought. Haru hadn’t been allowed in the hangar before, the man carried her up a ramp and into another room she had no idea where she was. The man set Haru down on a cold metal table and he walked back out of the room.

Haru started to feel some strength return to her, she couldn’t run or jump but maybe she could turn her head to look around. After a bit of effort she could see that she wasn’t alone in the room; several of her sisters were on tables just like hers and there was a blonde woman walking up to each of them and pressing a small object to their necks. The blonde woman wrote on a clipboard just like the white coats had, Haru couldn’t make out anything but could tell that the woman spoke as she made her way to each girl. When the woman reached her, Haru tensed every muscle she had regained control of.

“Woah, woah, woah, it’s okay! There there, I’m not gonna hurt you.” said the blonde woman with a gentle touch.

Haru relaxed and tried to speak again, met by the same raspy noise as earlier.

“You’ll feel better soon. My name is Doctor Anna Argo, I’m just going to check to see if you’re okay?” she asked but didn’t wait for an answer before pressing a cold metallic object to Haru’s neck.

Haru slowly regained her ability to move and speak over the next few minutes. Haru turned to the doctor and asked, “Are you a customer? Where are we?”

“No sweetie, I’m not a customer, you don’t have to worry about them ever again. We’re on a ship called the Heamophage on our way towards an Alliance station orbiting Mars,” said the doctor.

“A-LIONS!! Are you taking us to Urth?!” said Haru loud enough that her sisters began to panic.

“Nononono... we’re not going to Earth,” said Anna, not expecting that reaction.

Haru jumped from the table, only now noticing how much this doctor woman towered over her, more than a whole foot, but Anna calmly stepped aside as Haru ran towards the door, burst through it, and found herself in the middle of a hallway, doors on one side and windows on the other. She looked out a window and saw a white ball surrounded by darkness, farther away from the ball specs of light filled the darkness.

“What...” Haru whimpered before fainting.

When she woke up Haru was on a table again but this time the room was empty. She sat up and looked around the shiny silver-blue room, a few moments later the doctor walked back in.

“Oh good you’re awake. Before you panic, nothing bad is happening,” said Anna.

“Wha… where are the white coats?! Don’t leave them! They take care of us!”

“This is going to be hard to accept, but no they didn’t.” Anna took a deep breath before continuing, “The ‘white coats’ only raised you girls for the purpose of selling you. They’ve been arrested and are going to face trial.”

Haru scooted back, not sure what to think.

“Now you girls are free, once we get you to the station you’ll each be given an ID and a place to live while you get used to your new environment,” said Anna.

“Why were the white coats arrested?” asked Haru.

“They used genetic engineering to design you and the rest of the girls, so they could sell you to people with more fetishes than morals...” the doctor trailed off for a minute before simplifying, “They were arrested because selling people is bad.”

“Did the girls who were chosen... sold do they have nice lives?” asked Haru.

“Not usually, no...”

“My sister Kyra, do you know where she was taken?” Haru asked.
