Yes I know, that's a hell of a lot of DVDs and games to be looking at. I'd thought that I'd show off a small part of my collection by selecting all the prime choices (those that I'd recommend everybody to) of the sort and show them off! So here goes the extensive list, starting from the top left going downwards right:

Dead or Alive Ultimate: This is one of the greatest fighting games ever created. (Well a compilation of 1 and 2)

You have:
- Hot as hell chicks that can kick anyone's ass from here to the next street.

- Explosive/Destructive action as you can kick or throw anyone into a neon sign, out of a window of a tower, etc.

- (For the ladies) Hot guys that can do just as much *if not more, on some parts* damage as their female counterparts.

- Xbox Live action that makes all the fighting much more appealing.

I highly recommend this game for everyone, but if you're used to stupid, clunky (aka: slow) fighting games with the "robot" physics (as I like to call it) like Tekken, stay away. Rated M for obvious reasons....

Ninja Gaiden Black

One of the greatest (and hardest) video games created. Ryu Hayabusa is the kickest ass of ninja to exist in the gaming world, and with an interesting storyline, clean-cut visuals, and action so lightning-fast and intense that it can make your head spin (or just flat out frustrate you)...this game IS A MUST for Xbox owners!!

Rated M for violence and a slight hint of sexual innuendo here and there. It's just from seeing that dumb blonde in the game here and there....

Breakdown

A poorly appreciated video game for the Xbox, and it's a shame it never got the sequel that the makers of the game so cleverly hinted at on the good (less depressing) ending of the video game.

You're this guy who wakes up in a hospital and seem to be this super-human fighter who can kill anything with mostly his fists; if not everything. It all seems like a typical first person shooter; add the realistic feel to being inside someone's head, when you start to get a case of "Ohsh**myarmisglowing"-itus. Once you start gaining these mystical powers that basically give you SUPER strength, the game turns onto a humongous climb to a great storyline. It reaches its first climax (yes, this game has many climaxes and turning points, in my opinion) when you find a nude, half-mutated (in form) silver haired man who has glowing arms as well pretty much lay the SMACK down on your rookie arse. The guy knocks you down in one blow, then almost kills you as he chokes you after breaking you through a window out of a tower, FACE FIRST.

This game had my heart jumping a lot of times, and one other thing that added to the feeling of being the guy himself, is that in mid conversation, you can say something and it effects an entire conversation/reaction/etc.

...oh yeah..and in what seems like the ending of the game, you wake up suddenly in the future only to find that everything ....oh nvm. I won't spoil it for you. Too great of a climax for me to do so. XD

Rated M for violence, and some weird, disturbing sh**.

Phantom Dust

This game now has me. It's sucked my soul into the game and well...it REALLY REALLY IS FUN.
I don't need to describe this, since I've been talking about it in my past 2 journals. Read up on those instead for my descriptions of this awesome game.

Rated T for violence, some sexual innuendo (Although I've found almost none), and use of drugs/alcohol.

Forza Motorsport

Doom 3

Okay, so I finally got off my ass and played more of it.

Holy f*** it's scary. I've gotten kinda far in the game, and the scariest of moments so far is when you come across this HUGE beast/bear thing that tries to ram through the door/wall where you're at to get to you. So instead it crashes through the glass window and...yeah...you shoot it for all you're worth.

I recomend the game for anyone who likes the idea of a mixture of horror and first person shooter.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Special Edition

A great street racing game with a wide array of cars to race with, parts to use and upgrade with, AH! It's SO GREAT!! It kinda has a cheesy story, with mostly this one punk who, spite of his ego, tries to act cool with his version of street lingo and well....I dunno. He's just a dweeb, really. Anyways, the story is basically 2 in one:

- Become the best damn street racer in the story mode by pwning all the other noob drivers.

- Piss off the police so much that you become the most wanted racer on their list. XD

oh....and this is definately fun on Xbox Live...

Silent Hill 2

Not even going to say it twice, this game rocks, and well..it's the birthplace of Pyramid Head!! That's enough to just love it!!

If you don't know anything about this game, just look at my deviations and rantings on my journals to get an idea for it, since I've obsessed about this for a long time now.

Silent Hill 4: The Room

Set in the same universe as Silent Hill 2, a very unlucky guy gets caught living in the previous apartment of a murderer who was spoken of a bit in Silent Hill 2; Walter Sullivan. The apartment is haunted to the high heavens so much that, well....

You have had a nightmare for almost a week, and since then you can't leave your apartment because it's locked and chained FROM THE INSIDE.

....recently the game reached a new level of scariness when I jumped in my seat upon looking through the peephole in your doorway. I saw on the wall with the bloody handprints in all capital letters "BETTER CHECK UP ON YOUR NEIGHBOR SOON"

....it creeped me out, and don't get me started on my first encounter with Victims 07 + 08.....*shudders heavily*

Rated M for violence, gore, and even more disturbing sh** than SH 2.

Mortal Kombat: Annilhation

This movie had a lot more edge than its first film, but sadly it only had the original actors for Liu Kang an Princesss Kitana. Quite a shame, really. However this movie was a fusion of Mortal Kombat 2 and 3, while the first one held its "ancient ruins" feel of the original Mortal Kombat. The movie's really old, but....hell I still love it....I mean I get to see my homeboy CYRAX kick ass with awesome techno music as his BGM!!

Rated PG-13, I believe...

Sonic the Hedgehog: Mega Collection Plus

C'mon...you CAN'T not love the original, old school Sonic games. Buy this for $20 and be glued to the screen for old-school, Sega Genesis goodness for hours like I was and have been. ^_^

Namco Museum

You can't call yourself a true gamer if you don't appreciate the original games that started its huge ascent into the entertainment world. Pac-Man, Galaga, Pole Position....and a few variations of those and more!

Deus Ex: Invisible War

This was a fantastic sequel to the original PC game i made that sucked me in for 40+ hours of gameplay and intense storyline. While the sequel isn't as analog or "free" as the first one, it still has its own sense of freedom and overall openness as to what you can do and how it effects the game as a whole.

For those of you who played it and beat it, I went with the Dentons and their ending. I dunno....I mean JC Denton was THE shit and his brother. I trusted them enough because I mean..c'mon...they were the protagonists of the first game, how can you go wrong with that?!

Matrix: Path of Neo

This is the Matrix game we needed AS SOON as the movies were done, not the pseudo-cool Matrix experience of unneeded characters like Niobe and Ghost. I want my Neo fix, dammit. I want to fly around, fight 100+ Agent Smiths and relive everything he did.....

I mean it's the ONLY way one should play a Matrix game, as Neo, right?

Jet Set Radio Future

Remember me comparing Phantom Dust to Jet Set Radio Future (in journals) because of its originality? Play this game and you will understand perfectly. The story is based on a gang that everybody seems to be after because it's the #1 and coolest gang to exist in Neo Tokyo; the GGs. With excellent cel shaded graphics and a VERY awesome soundtrack and control scheme, tagging graffiti on towns and competing against other gangs and battling against the cops has never been this fun. To get a feel for how it all started, buy yourself a Sega Dreamcast and get the first game, Jet Grind Radio (name changed to "grind" in the US version only; don't know why).

Can't get THIS in a FPS game now can you?! Didn't think so.

OutRun 2

Based on the verrrrryyy oolllld arcade game, OutRun, this extremely exaggerated of a racing game still makes me smile. It's exaggerated because it's a current gen video game with old, "arcade" physics built into it.
I can't explain it very well, you'd just have to see it for yourself. Oh, and this game is built around the Ferrari, so that's the only brand of car you'll be racing in this game here.

Splinter Cell

Yes..that's the first one, since...I don't own either Pandora Tomorrow (#2) nor Chaos Theory (#3), or the newest one, Double Agent (#4) ;.;.

I remember staying up to 2 A.M. trying to sneak my way into certain areas....never knew a game could be this immersive. This game had me hooked, and well...you just gotta love the way how Sam intimidates his foes.

Shenmue 2

You know there'd probably be a Shenmue 3 by now if everyone just bought more damn Sega games. This game had one of the most immersive plots and story developments TO DATE and it was like my own "Final Fantasy". Clocking more or less 40-50 hours, Shenmue 1 and 2 was the perfect mixture of fighting and RPG in its time with a ton of cool "Quick Action" sequences.

Just because I say so, if you own an Xbox, RENT this game. The voice acting may be a little bland, but you grow to like Ryo-san's acting.

Spirited Away

You can't call yourself a true otaku if you don't know, or don't appreciate Hayao Miyazaki's films. Everything the guy makes turns to an instant Platinum hit. How does he do it? Basically he combines mostly everything an anime fan (or person) would want in a film and puts it all in subtle ways and perfect balance to make (in general) kid movies that are far more creative and innovative than Disney has ever made. *No offense, mind you.*

This film's about a girl who has to go through an adventure to eventually bring her parents out of a spell. Through this she goes through a tremendous transformation of maturity and ends up more grown up.

Superb acting, superb visuals...gah..this movie's still a favorite to me.

Rated PG for some violence and gross stuff...not a lot though

Dragon Half

The brainchild of randomness. I can't even explain this OVA because it has no real plot. It's just...funny. A dragon girl tries to go see a concert, but because of her being a dragon girl, she keeps getting provoked in the most ridiculous situations and ways.

Tons of chibi-ness and "wtf?" moments...especially the ending song............

Elfen Lied

Don't see this series if you can get queezy through seeing dismembering of limbs ALONG with the gore, violence and oh yeah, nudity. (Though it's done in good taste) This story has one of the most heart-wrenching stories I've seen and it's made me cry quite a few times. A girl of the past who is highly misunderstood and hated grows an ice-cold heart towards humanity.

But she shows mercy to one person....

Rated TV M for pretty much everything I said about it.

Gorillaz: Demon Days LIVE

If you like the Gorillaz, buy this DVD. If you don't, oh well then.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

I don't watch Cowboy Bebop. Honestly I don't...but this movie makes me want to get into the series, and thankfully I could pick up the story without having seen the anime prior to.

Some evil guy tries to get rid of humanity by making them see his "vision" of life through these deadly, biochemical weapons.

Red vs. Blue

That's season one I have only....

Red vs. Blue is the ULTIMATE (and probably only) successful parody series based directly off of Halo, since the entire show uses the actual game itself to show the story! It's a BS story where 2 groups are in a war that neither wants to win, and could care less about since they're in the middle of nowhere. XD

Has lots of cussing in it....

Tenjho Tenge

This is what Ikki Tousen/Battle Vixens should have been.........

The story is pretty simple; a karate infested school that has all its students (for the most part) kick ass to gain respect and maintain peace I assume.

I have only seen up to the 3rd volume, and this is when the main story is supposed to be finally revealed, so I can't really give a summary on its story.

Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn

I know, it's Dragon Ball Z. It's been on TV for ages, and by now you're probably just rolling your eyes in annoyance because once again you're seeing that constipated looking expression and golden hair staring back at you because he's either angry or "powering up".

Oh well, go ahead and miss out on a grand movie if you want, but this is legit.

By world reviews and impressions, this is the #1 Dragon Ball movie in existance; in it, Toriyama-sensei (the maker of DB) goes to his roots by adding plenty of comedy WITH the super intense action with a reasonable plot that doesn't sound overdone or too simplified.

Through some malfunction in the afterlife, Heaven and Hell have somehow merged into one dimension, making by default, all of the dead rise again and Goku and Vegeta (who are dead at this time already) have to find the one who's causing all of it; a king of demons named Janemba.

Janemba looks like a distant cousin to Fat (Mr) Buu because of its child-like personality and, well...."fatness", needless to say. However he hosts some of the craziest powers and techniques that sets him WAY apart from any previous Dragon Ball villain.

This is the first DB film to mix in CG with the animation, and at this time apparently, Akira Toriyama was at his PEAK in animating this film because everything looks so crisp.

The voices are great as usual, and the action couldn't be more fluid (as apposed to just rapid movement depicted in a few frames), and the music is great too!!

Initial D

Forget everything about Need for Speed or Fast and the Furious for now for just a second. Now add everything that street racing encompasses by itself and you have the purest, most unsaturated (aka: "Sugar-coated") street racing anime/film/whatever to exist. A student of a school who seems to be just an ordinary guy is discovered when people notice that he is the delivery boy who can drive the delivery car, his father's Toyota AE86 Trueno, better than any other street racing car there is on the road.

It may seem like it's just all about the racing, but watch it just once; you may become hooked like I was! (Note: I never gave a damn about cars or racing for that matter before I saw this anime, and NOW I am)

Naruto Uncut BoxSet Volume 1

I don't care what anyone else says...the voices for the US version of Naruto fucking PWN!! Also what I love in this boxset (this is the special edition displayed) is what they did:

- When they mean "uncut", that means they got completely RID of the annoying opening and ending that you saw on Toonami. This leaves open for the REAL, MUCH BETTER opening of Naruto with the theme song "Rocks" and "Wind", its ending.

- The episode descriptions, along with some other things, are now LEFT ALONE in the original japanese text, so the only thing that's americanized now are the voices!!

Everyone who wants to get the most out of the US dub of Naruto, BUY this boxset, because you won't regret it!

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

A very grand video game-to-movie adaption. People bitch about it being too much like an action flick....but....

- in FF7 all you pretty much DID was fight monsters...how the hell else are you going to make a reasonable transition from the game to the movie without all the action?

- Regardless of popular thought, those of you who complained about the side characters not getting enough time should really just . Why? We already GOT their stories in the video game itself and adding them in as they have been in the movie fits perfectly since there's nothing else to explain for them. Get over it, or cry me a river; whichever you end up doing first.

One of the best looking movies of all time...and Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Vincent, Kadaj, and Reno all sound perfect to me. *Everyone else is good too, but Marlene's VA sucks heavily.*

The brainchild of randomness. I can't even explain this OVA because it has no real plot. It's just...funny. A dragon girl tries to go see a concert, but because of her being a dragon girl, she keeps getting provoked in the most ridiculous situations and ways.

Tons of chibi-ness and "wtf?" moments...especially the ending song............

Elfen Lied

Don't see this series if you can get queezy through seeing dismembering of limbs ALONG with the gore, violence and oh yeah, nudity. (Though it's done in good taste) This story has one of the most heart-wrenching stories I've seen and it's made me cry quite a few times. A girl of the past who is highly misunderstood and hated grows an ice-cold heart towards humanity.

But she shows mercy to one person....

Rated TV M for pretty much everything I said about it.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie

I don't watch Cowboy Bebop. Honestly I don't...but this movie makes me want to get into the series, and thankfully I could pick up the story without having seen the anime prior to.

Some evil guy tries to get rid of humanity by making them see his "vision" of life through these deadly, biochemical weapons.

Red vs. Blue

That's season one I have only....

Red vs. Blue is the ULTIMATE (and probably only) successful parody series based directly off of Halo, since the entire show uses the actual game itself to show the story! It's a BS story where 2 groups are in a war that neither wants to win, and could care less about since they're in the middle of nowhere. XD

Has lots of cussing in it....

This is what Ikki Tousen/Battle Vixens should have been.........

The story is pretty simple; a karate infested school that has all its students (for the most part) kick ass to gain respect and maintain peace I assume.

I have only seen up to the 3rd volume, and this is when the main story is supposed to be finally revealed, so I can't really give a summary on its story.

Dragon Ball Z: Fusion Reborn

I know, it's Dragon Ball Z. It's been on TV for ages, and by now you're probably just rolling your eyes in annoyance because once again you're seeing that constipated looking expression and golden hair staring back at you because he's either angry or "powering up".

Oh well, go ahead and miss out on a grand movie if you want, but this is legit.

By world reviews and impressions, this is the #1 Dragon Ball movie in existance; in it, Toriyama-sensei (the maker of DB) goes to his roots by adding plenty of comedy WITH the super intense action with a reasonable plot that doesn't sound overdone or too simplified.

Through some malfunction in the afterlife, Heaven and Hell have somehow merged into one dimension, making by default, all of the dead rise again and Goku and Vegeta (who are dead at this time already) have to find the one who's causing all of it; a king of demons named Janemba.

Janemba looks like a distant cousin to Fat (Mr) Buu because of its child-like personality and, well...."fatness", needless to say. However he hosts some of the craziest powers and techniques that sets him WAY apart from any previous Dragon Ball villain.

This is the first DB film to mix in CG with the animation, and at this time apparently, Akira Toriyama was at his PEAK in animating this film because everything looks so crisp.

The voices are great as usual, and the action couldn't be more fluid (as apposed to just rapid movement depicted in a few frames), and the music is great too!!

Initial D

Forget everything about Need for Speed or Fast and the Furious for now for just a second. Now add everything that street racing encompasses by itself and you have the purest, most unsaturated (aka: "Sugar-coated") street racing anime/film/whatever to exist. A student of a school who seems to be just an ordinary guy is discovered when people notice that he is the delivery boy who can drive the delivery car, his father's Toyota AE86 Trueno, better than any other street racing car there is on the road.

It may seem like it's just all about the racing, but watch it just once; you may become hooked like I was! (Note: I never gave a damn about cars or racing for that matter before I saw this anime, and NOW I am)

Naruto Uncut BoxSet Volume 1

I don't care what anyone else says...the voices for the US version of Naruto fucking PWN!! Also what I love in this boxset (this is the special edition displayed) is what they did:

- When they mean "uncut", that means they got completely RID of the annoying opening and ending that you saw on Toonami. This leaves open for the REAL, MUCH BETTER opening of Naruto with the theme song "Rocks" and "Wind", its ending.

- The episode descriptions, along with some other things, are now LEFT ALONE in the original japanese text, so the only thing that's americanized now are the voices!!

Everyone who wants to get the most out of the US dub of Naruto, BUY this boxset, because you won't regret it!

Final Fantasy 7: Advent Children

A very grand video game-to-movie adaption. People bitch about it being too much like an action flick....but....

- in FF7 all you pretty much DID was fight monsters...how the hell else are you going to make a reasonable transition from the game to the movie without all the action?

- Regardless of popular thought, those of you who complained about the side characters not getting enough time should really just . Why? We already GOT their stories in the video game itself and adding them in as they have been in the movie fits perfectly since there's nothing else to explain for them. Get over it, or cry me a river; whichever you end up doing first.

One of the best looking movies of all time...and Cloud, Tifa, Sephiroth, Vincent, Kadaj, and Reno all sound perfect to me. *Everyone else is good too, but Marlene's VA sucks heavily.*
