On this dayβ11th Juneβone year ago, and I created a holiday for ourselves: Lyra Day. A day dedicated to the appreciation of everybody's favourite green-tinted unicorn! We're still not entirely sure how you can go about appreciating her, but you can start by listening to this glorious music , I guess.If that isn't a reason to make yourself a lyre-themed scepter and crown out of cardboard, I don't know what is.
So, I wish all of you a very happy day, on this, the 2nd annual Lyra Day!

I propose that, in honour of this obviously totally legit holiday, somebody - anybody! - has to learn how to actually play a lyre. It's under-appreciated these days.

The one thing Lyra did to become a human obssessed maniac thanks to the fandom: sit like a human. And yet when AJ, AB and Granny Smith did it, no one cares.

I am not entirely sure how the creation of a fictional, and rather amusing, backstory to a character that was spotted in the background of an episode can be considered "too far", considering the amount of violent, gore-y and r34 stuff created out there. Frankly this seems quick innocuous by comparison...

I am merely stating my opinion. It goes for Derpy and the muffins too. We saw her have a muffin on her bag once, and she said muffin once, so naturally she's crazy about muffins right? The major fandom ideas around these two is basically why I cant bring myself to like the two characters, especially Derpy, but that was due to Hasbro.

The two characters are quite literally just the fan made creations. Otherwise they'd be "background unicorn #5" and "background pegasus #7" or something similar. Besides, no one expects you to like them. I don't see how it affects you what someone else does with an idea, especially an idea that (in my opinion) is simple and amusing

Things to do on Lyra day:
Sit like a human
Shake hands estatically and more often than necessary
Buy a giant foam finger
Wear said foam finger everywhere
Sit like a human in rediculous places
If you have a harp or lyre, play it (or attempt to)
Get a (couple) sitting Lyra cutout(s) and make them sit all over your house/room.
Eat a muffin (oops, wrong day)
Paint yourself mint green and dye your hair darker mint with a white stripe (or eat a piece of spearmint gum, your choice)
BACKGROUND PONY EDITION: Go up to a homeless person multiple times, saying the exact same things and giving them the exact same amount of money.
ANTHROPOLOGY EDITION: Go around like you have been living all your life as a pony in Equestria and just found out you were a human and was sent back to the human world.

Actually I did eat a muffin. I missed out on the harp one, because I don't own said instrument, and the last three, because a) I didn't have any gum or hair dye, and b) I didn't want to do the last two as well because then my total would have been 9, and it would have made my tally up there look a little offensive to certain people who like to make a big deal over nothing all the time.

Ok...? OH! Just got it, nine out of eleven. Yeah, totally didn't get it and wouldn't have if you did, you weren't referencing it at all. Anyways, you got a foam finger and wore it everywhere?! Awesome!

Got some real strange looks from my family, walking around the house with it.
Especially when I was trying to cook dinner wearing it.
But it was worth it!
