I get that ;v; I've worked with almost pitch black pixels before and it's really hard to see everything detailed because of how tiny it all is. I always have to lighten up darker characters so you can actually see the lines and details P:

yeah especially with pixels, too, because of how little room there is to express detail
magic, complex little squares

i do love dark characters, though
