I did it. I drew a family tree. Okay, let me explain.

Going from the top down, we have Starswirl the Bearded who (unoffically but basically) adopted Celestia and Luna as both a father and mentor after they first became alicorns as fillies. Then Luna met somepony and had a child with them (to explain Prince Blueblood being the great great great great great great great great great great great (and probably even more greats) nephew of Celestia as explained in the show. A couple generations down from Luna, I brought in the old Princess Sterling from the MLP Toy Lines and gave her a purpose alongside a reused Brights Brightly from G3 (Renamed Prince Heracles) as Prince Bluebloods parents and the ponies who ended up adopting Princess Cadance prior to alicornhood. Speaking of Cadance, her family tree includes Princess Amore from the comics and a reused Unicorn Cheerilee, again from G3, renamed as Prince Esme. The two of them have a child- Prince Eros (which is actually Princess Skyla from the so-soft toyline), who himself got with Princess Gold Lily (Again, from the toylines) and the two of them biologically have Cadance.
Now we got that mess out of the way, Twilight Velvet and Night Light have Princess Twilight Sparkle and Shining Armor, Twilight is dating Tempest Shadow and Shining Armor marries Cadance, having Flurry Heart and- a plot point for a later storyline, Flurry's younger sister- Persephone.

Did I explain that well? Probably not, but at least the image can (hopefully) give you a better idea then my attempt at explaining it in words. Shout out to recycling G3 characters and characters that never appear outside of the toylines.
