Description The Concept of The Blurred Confession
Part 1: Fruits of Frustration

Running; running... "No! Don't hide in there!!"

"Aaah!!"she screamed, bolting upright in her chair.

"What did you see, H3-8? Anything new?" inquired the head of Sector M, 'Boss.'

H-3-8 sighed, "No, sorry Boss... It was just Lorraine running into his hands, again..." She sighed once more, letting her gaze drift from Boss' eyes to her hands placed neatly in her lap.

"H-3-8, you just called her 'Lorraine'... I know you want to solve this case, more than anyone, but I fear your personal attachment to the victim may be blocking you from seeing the truth..."

H-3-8's head snapped up. "No, Boss! It's okay, I swear - run process X3572EE again!"

"That's enough for today!" Boss raised his voice. "H-3-8," he sighed, "I don't want you hurting yourself. You're off for the rest of the day. Go relax. Maybe we'll figure this mystery out tomorrow."

H-3-8 sighed. "Okay, Boss..."

"Good girl, and don't forget to stop by Sector T for your after-process-testing. We have to make sure everything is alright, ya know!"

H-3-8 nodded, "Yes sir, see you later, sir." She walked out of room M18, or more commonly called, the embodiment of suffering. White stained walls, contraptions, odds and ends, needles, wires, test tubes, and as of right now, an unsolved case. Closing the door behind herself, H-3-8 sunk to her knees covering her eyes, "Why? "Why wont you let me see? ... WHAT wont you let me see? Why, little sister... why...?"

LabTech looked up at Boss from behind the heart-monitoring system, "Boss, shouldn't we go comfort her... The brutal loss of Lorraine was strong enough, and now she can't see... I mean, we do KNOW that she's still on the other side of the door..."

"So does she," stated Boss. " and no, Lab Tech, it'll just cause her more stress - You know how proud she is."

"I guess you're, Boss..." The aura encompassed by an aura of silence, until LabTech decided to break it once more, "Boss, my name isn't LabTech."

"What?! It's not? But it makes so much sense...The why do you go around letting people call you LabTech?" gaped Boss.

"What? I don't let people call me LabTech! It's not like my mother foresaw the fact that I was going to be a lab tech so she decided to name me LabTech..." LabTech began to scowl.

"Oh, she's good! Isn't she about my age? Can I have your mother's number?"

"Boss!!"

"Hm? When did H-3-8 leave?"

"Huh? Probably when you were trying to get my mother's phone number... Lech..."

H-3-8 made her way down the white white hallway, contrasting darkly, in her deep purple uniform. Grumbling, she started pulling off the vitals sensors. Sticker here. Drip there. Monitor here, and here, and he--CRASH! Papers everywhere, coffee, on the floor. H-3-8 had walked into a Sector Q intern.  The frightened intern mumbled her apologies as she hurriedly tried to wipe up the coffee on the floor. “Stop.” H-3-8’s voice was demanding and gentle. She kneeled down and took the young intern’s hand looking her dead in the eyes, “In this profession, be it Sector Q, or like me, Sector M, you must be fearless or you will be pushed around, tortured, and flung to the winds. Now, go was your hands and I’ll deal with this mess.”

“Y-yes! … Wait, how did you know I’m a Sector Q worked?”

H-3-8 sighed, “When you’ve worked here as long as I have, you learn to recognize all 27 sector’s uniforms. Now, go wash your hands.”

“Th-thank you!…?”

“Call me Haunter.” She kneeled and started picking up papers.

“Y-yes! Thank you… Haunter!” the frightened intern ran off leaving Haunter to the monotonous task or picking up the papers as the floor rid itself of the coffee. Shortly after H-3-8, or Haunter as she preferred, had picked up the last paper, the intern had appeared with a fresh cup of coffee.

The young intern flipped her wrist over and gasped, “Oh my goodness, I’m so late! Thank you so much for the help, but I really must be going; Mr. Calvin is going to make my head roll!”

Haunter scowled, “No wonder you’re so terrified. Sector M is nothing like he says it is. He’s actually never even worked there. He and I just don’t get along. I’m H-3-8 Special FA1. I’m sure he’s told all of his interns horrible stories of how I’m a monster, all because he didn’t woo me. No worries, I’ll escort you. What’re you interning for, anyway?”

The young intern stuttered, “Uhm, Computer Aided Brain Wave Analysis…” Together, they walked the length of the hallway and through the partition to Sector Q.

A short man fumed and howled as they entered, “WHY ARE YOU LATE, DAMEI?!” Damei coward as Calvin smacked the hot coffee from her hands, to splash on the white white walls. “AND WHERE ARE MY—“

Haunter asserted her presence with a hard smack to Calvin’s face, almost knocking him to the ground. “Damei is transferring to Sector M.”

“WHAT?!”

“I am…?

“SHE IS?!”

Haunter scowled again, “Get your own shit from now on Calvin. Come on Damei, there’s much to be done, and I’m late for testing,”

“R-right, thank you, Haunter!”

Damei turned with Haunter, but faltered at Calvin’s words, “She’s a monster, Damei! I’ve seen her do things, horrible things, and feel no remorse! She could kill you now and not think about it ever again!” Invisible hands silenced Calvin as he trembled under Haunter’s gaze.

“At least she has the monster’s favor, worm.” With that, Haunter took Damei’s hand and together, they once more walked the length of the white white hallway walking back towards Sector M.

“Uh, Boss…? H-3-8 has returned and it looks as though she’s brought a guest. I think it may be a Sector Q intern…” Boss lifted an eyebrow.

Knock. Knock. Knock. A metallic voice chimed out, “Voice and retinal recognition scan, please.”

Haunter stood perfectly still as her eye was scanned and she stated, “H-3-8, Sector M Special FA1, and guest.”

“Processing – you may proceed.”

Haunter and Damei walked into Sector M to see Boss and LabTech sitting with quizzical looks upon their faces. Damei silently tightened her grasp on Haunter’s hand. Haunter returned with a gentle squeeze. “ I want Sector M verification, a verification code, testing, and processing into Sector M’s computers for Calvin’s intern. She’s switching internships.”

Boss lifted his eyebrow once more, “What does she do?”

Damei chimed up, “I’m… I’m interning for a Computer Aided Brain Wave Analysis job.”

Haunter tapped her foot impatiently, “Boss she and I have Sector M testing, hurry. Hurry.”

“Well, LabTech, you heard H-3-8, get to it.”

LabTech sighed and grumbled to himself as he processed everything. “Young lady, what is your name?”

“Damei Knightly, sir.”

“From now on, you go by your verification code which is DA-7X, understood?”

“Y-yes…” As Damei was being processed, Haunter picked out a new uniform for her and laid it by her side. “Blue! So pretty! Like my eyes!” Haunter nodded and pointed Damei into the changing room. While Damei was changing, LabTech prepared a mini computer full of maps, and important information Damei could possibly need and attached it to a lanyard. Damei stepped out and spun, “How do I look?”

Haunter nodded, “Sector M looks better on you. Burn your old uniform.” The men were silent as the phone began ringing.

“Hello?” answered Boss in a gruff voice.

“HAUNTER IS LATE FOR AFTER PROCEDURE TEST—“

“She’s on her way and with a new intern.” Boss hung up the phone. “Get going you two, Chamomile is bitchin’ ‘cuz aren’t there yet, and she’s probably not going to be too happy about the hanging up on her and whole new intern thing.”

“Come on Damei, it’s off to testing we go.” They left M18 and Haunter explained the Verification Code to Damei. Walking down the white white hallways was always lonely, but not so much anymore. “It’s just easier for the computers. A verification code takes up less space than a full name. And the numbers and letters it comes with holds all the data that a full biography would. Just in less space.”

“Oh!” Reaching Sector T, the two were quiet, silenced by the testing going on and that they were about to do.
