This was the first mecha girl I ever saw to avoid the skinny loli look and go for juicy, and at no cost in cuteness.
I never cared for the Strike Witches style, preferring a more armored look first, a less-teched-up warrior girl second. This IS-3 is one of the best examples of the latter.
Just noticed the star hair clip. Awww.

Well, guess it's good that I occasionally check this old account. But yeah, never really understood the loli trend. but then again, that's Japan to you. This drawing is pretty old by now though, completely messed up anatomy.

I swear, the innocent eyes on her almost seem out of place, yet it's charming. It's almost like giving a little girl a chainsaw.

Yeah well the IS-3 was really armed for anything, but in the end, she was too late for the party...

That's 230mm of DHC armor.
And think DU is a bit too modern for a WW2 era tank...

HEAVY MACHINE GUN(s)
I kinda wanted to make Heavy-tan like this, but the open cleavage makes her look smaller than she really is.
Maybe I'll doodle a different design with a closed top.
Only bad thing I'd say here is that her front foot looks a bit much too twisted. SHE'S GONNA BREAK HER TREADS THAT WAY. ;_;

Alternative Heavy design? sounds interesting.
Yeah, that foot looks really off, but speaking the truth, theres so much more wrong it that picture that in the end drawing the whole thing again would be better. But meh...
Took so much time to draw this thing because I had no previous design sketches, thus I had to come up with them at the same time as drawing. This forced me several times to stop and think about the design. She was originally going to carry a DShK HwyMG, but when I realized the complexity of that gun, I decided to just give her a DT.

Barely different: just mainly get rid of the open cleavage. But for you, I might doodle one where she has short shorts.
Ah, my weapon-fu is still not strong enough. I'll have to go back to lurking with my limited knowledge. *cowers in [link] *

Oh well, everyone cant be as crazy gun enthusiast as me.
To clear things up, DShK is a 12.7mm HMG, little like the amerikkan Browning M2.
And DT is just a Tank configuration of the DP-27 LMG. Both are guns that the IS-3 was armed with. 2 DT's, one DShK and a 122mm maincannon. Even if IS-3 was developed in 1945, it never saw any real battle in WW2. Only notable war it has been in use was the 6 day war in Israel, where it was quickly noted as inferior, old design compared to the new modern MainBattleTank type tanks.
IS-3 was heavily armored but lacked in engine power, thus making it roll at 37km/h at best, just too slow to fight after-WW2 MBT's.
LOL, useless information rant.
