This is actually what I hoped would happen when I watched this episode. This was the ep were I stopped liking sakura, because I was tired of waiting for her epic fight. And when her fight in this ep came it was so dissapointing that my dislike started.I was so pissed that I went :"Ino!! Cut all the pink hair off!! That will show her!!" ahahahahaha ^O^
But that's all in the past now. Sakura is quite awesome in shippuuden.

...didn't really get it the first time I read the strip.
It sort of looked like it was either cut a few inches enough to stick up, or gelled up, to maybe look like a chicken's butt or something...

Well, it would depend on you, largely.
It would help making the scene more funny/horrendous/scandalous to your viewers, probably, but do you have the time to do it?
I mean, it's already pretty nice without it. Still, if you do decide to do it, just make sure you don't end up sacrificing time you could've used for something more important on it.
