after like 4 weeks or so of hardwork its finally donnne!!XDD
yayyy
hmm this is actually a kinda art called batik
basically its sealing areas of cloth with wax and colouring other areas. after tat sealing other areas again to create a layer effect
after tat theres a fixer and it becomes waterproof.
originates from indonesia if im not wrong
really wonderful project... hard work but makes me proud to have something liek tat!

materials: wax, janting..,batik paints, cottom clothe, fixer, hot water, brushes
ref: there was one.. was a colourpencil work.. carn remb the artist name.. basically the flower and flowy lines are like it.. erm... i carn remb the guys nameeeXP if u happen to see and know then pls tell me.. i'll credit immediately... i saw it like... 2 mnths ago?? o.o ohh gods

It's an amazing artwork ! im happy to see colourfull batiks !! and it seems like you even know batik more than i do. srly, I love batik ! but actually, the thing you used is called canting, not janting. BUT i never new batik could be this colourfull !! so... Thank you so much for doing this art ! it makes me realized about how wonderfull batik would be if you're not afraid to try.

What dyes and tools did you use for this project? What was your process, going color by color or area by area?

basically it is batik dyes, its kidna like the consistency of water colors. u block of areas with wax and just "fill in the blanks" with different color. by working from light to dark u get blocks of different colors.

haha get some good recomendation of wax.. i think my teacher used bees wax and paraffin
and get some batik paint and ur all ready to go

is all diff layers of batik dye! haha
its quite a complicated process... basiclaly keep painting layers, wax to mask of layers, colour more, wax, colour, wax haha and u pretty much get the product!

how does the layering effect take place? as in do you do a very basic design with wax and the dyes, iron it off then go over with a more complex design - because surely the colours would.. smoosh on top of each other and block each other out x-D sorry if i sound nooby to the process but im looking to do something like this for my gcse final piece and dont really know how it all works..

haha its actually quite simple 
so basically ..
1. colour bg a VERY light colour ( or leave it white...)
2. wax the area u wan WHITE or tat LIGHT COLOUR
3. apply darker colour on top ( dry)
4. apply wax on top of the part u want the darker colour to appear
5. colour and wax colour darker each time... so u work frm dark to light.
at the end iron off everything apply fixative wash and ur done!!!
ahha its not tat hard and its loads of fun

4 weeks of work... my quilted birds took as long, so I can imagine myself that you are now quite proud of your work, now when ot's finished.
I really like it. It's colourful - cheerful, flowerish and generally gives you a "happy" impression.

hmm.. its abouut...slightly smaller than a A3 size if i remb correctlyXD
haha it is acty brighter then i put on the fixer and washed it so the colour faded... so i used fotoshop to spruce it up abitXD
