Description
My beauty.M15A4 Carbine, RIS front-end, 3 rail covers, AN/PEQ-II box, ACOG 4x32 scope, flip-up BUIS.
Gave the whole thing a rough hit with some OD Krylon paint, then dummy-corded the AN/PEQ-II with black 550 paracord. Then I added armoury numbers to the stock, ACOG and AN/PEQ-II. Finally, a couple of white zip-ties to further reinforce the AN/PEQ-II mount, and to stop the front sling swivel from rattling round.
Top that all off with some usage marks, some dirt and a sexy STS 1-point sling, and I love this thing! It's about as close as I can get this thing looking to a real gun that's been used and abused.

bit late, seeing that now it's gone... But quite the gun, wouldn't fare too bad with a M900 either... It really does have a distinct U.S military look to it, unlike my PMC M4. Good work!

Gun is loooong gone now, but it was a Laylax one. About the best I found, at the time at least.

Actually the gearbox shell cracked at the front, so it was mostly broken apart and sold for parts

Looking mighty fine, thinking of a 203 to give you a bit of an extra work out? a major bonus of having the RIS instead of a RAS
The krylon looks pretty cool, debating whether I should do something similar or go with solid OD (stocks already OD and thinking of getting the body OD'd)
Yeh mate, the eotechs fuzzy because it uses laser holograph technology that differs from the old projection reticules (aimpoint etc) so you'll
need near perfect vision if you want to see a neat reticle, I found this out when I started wear contacts during skirmishes (Im very slightly short sighted) its perfectly
clear for me now.
As fer your gearbox sounds like CA to me, I got pissed off with the cylinder unit as it was dropping the fps by around 50 so I got the whole lot
replaced. Hopefully should remain a little more consistent now

How do you afford that shit? Real ACOGs were costing us about 800 bucks....is that some kind of mock-up sight?

I'm currently waiting for an EOTech 552 from a *certain source*, but it's long overdue now, so I doubt I'll ever get it.
That said, I dislike the EOTech reticule - it always looks fuzzy to me, and I know others think the same.

If thats a top of the line airsoft, then yeah, thats about how much an M4 weights. Be thankful 300 BBs weighs a heck of alot less then 300 bullets! My armor felt funny first time I put it on after we handed over the ammo on the way back home.

Gearbox was fine, but it just randomly stopped working (not a sound) a couple of times. Half an hour later and it was fine, without doing anything to it.

It's heavy - not being used to real weapons, and this weighing as much as the real thing, it feels pretty weighty

If you mean 'is it real?', then it's an airsoft gun - i.e. it fires plastic pellets at safe velocities for use in wargaming
If you mean 'can you pick the bugger up?' then yes, just about ^_^

Eh... the first definition of real. Almost. I meant does it fire actual explosive "I'm-a kill you now" bullets, but apparently not. And what do you mean you can "just about" pick it up? >.> Is it that heavy or unwieldy?

By "explosive bullets" do you mean explosive-tip or do you mean "explosive" as in cartridges that use propellant (as opposed to 6mm Airsoft BBs).
