I recommend a plate carrier of some kind. The IBA and IOTV are pretty bulky and the SF guys tend for the lighter weight stuff.

F*cking nice gear, mate! It puts my gear to shame.
How many pounds you spend on all that?

Thanks a lot mate! Total cost, god only knows. I'll have to add it all up sometime, I guess.
In fact, I'll put up a new version of this kit sometime soon.

Ive been doing some researching lately on personal armor systems for a purchase im planning to make in the near future. Recently ive been presented a chance to buy a US issue Interceptor vest with ceramic hard panels.
Since im not really an expert on these contraptions i figured i might as well ask you since your knowledge on its user feedback would probably eclipse mine by tidal proportions.
So whats your take on the intercepto? Good? Bad?

It was the old (until a year or so ago) issue vest for the US Army. It's an alright vest, nothing special but it'll do the job. The new ACU version is better designed, if you can get that.

In the Army, the IOTV. In the Marines, the MTV.

I lol'd @ EFG lower. Is that just a stick-on decal or something? I'd love something like that for my M16.
Looks totally professional, excellent job.

Why the trainers?
I love my Magnum Amazon boots, they are so comfortable I wear them even for everyday use.
Besides, you can get hurt without heel support.

They're regular-height Scarpa hiking boots. Plenty of ankle support without being overwhelming and removing mobility like full-height combat boots do.

Yeah, seen shoes like those... and people got hurt wearing them at airsoft matches.
A guy fell on a wet road and got carried to hospital, I fell in exact same spot and got up and killed 2 more guys before match ended, no injuries whatsoever.
You might say luck, but I think the boots did the trick, the fall was pretty bad, I even marked the road with the muzzle and my feet were all over the place.

Hiking boots offer just as much support as combat boots, in the right places. They come way up over the ankle.
I've been using hikers in airsoft for 5 years and never had an issue. Seems to be working fine for all the soldiers using them, too.

For what it's worth I even have a pair of desert combat boots but frankly I dislike wearing them...
If you really want I can go into Photoshop and make a montage of guys wearing hikers, but then it'll look like I have some sort of weird foot fetish...
