Description Type: Dinosaur

Diet: Herbivore

From: Las Cinco Muertas

Population: 100 and rising

The most well known of the "Bone Head" dinosaurs, Pachycephalosaurus was a decent sized herbivore that lived during the late Cretaceous period, living alongside Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus Rex. The dome on its head is 9 inches of solid was likely used in jousting matches in which two males would slam the sides of their heads of into each others torso. The dome could've also been used as a display maybe even brightly colored. Another interesting fact is the very close relationship between this dinosaur and two other pachycephasaurs, the Dracorex and Stygimoloch. Of course Ingen never would have known the true significance at the time, but science really is full of surprises as time goes on as you will soon see.

Due to it being fairly prominent dinosaur, the Pachycephalosaurus was resurrected on Isla Sorna to later be shipped to Jurassic park. This first generation seemed smaller than their ancestors and the young having fully developed skulls despite their age. Due to the park's shutdown and a impending hurricane heading towards Sorna forced the Ingen to abandon the islands and dinosaurs being released into the wild. Once free the pachys began grouping up with other dinosaurs for protection, though they were still very temperamental and are known to charge into any aggressor. After an unsuccessful operation to bring dinosaurs to mainland and Isla Sorna being established as a wildlife preserve the pachys were left to live in peace.

In the following years Simone Masrani approved of the construction of Jurassic World and the pachys were going to be among the attractions. Using individuals from Sorna as a base, the scientists were able to bring a new generation of pachys into the world with a much more complete genome. These individuals could grow as large as their prehistoric predecessors and have rows of somewhat prominent osteoderms on their backs, other than that they were sill very similar to the last batch, however something unexpected revealed itself when the new dinos first hatched. These newborns did not have the domed head of the adults, in facr as the young aged they went from the spiked, domeless head of Dracorex, to the horned dome of Stygimoloch, to eventually take on the classical Pachycephalosaurus. This phenomenon shocked the geneticists but, to active paleontologists it proves what was speculated on up to that point, in which the three supposed related species are in fact one in the same just at different stages of development.

The dinosaurs were placed in the dubbed "Pachy Arena". Guest were strictly advised to remove or cover up anything red on their person as the color sets off the pachys and would try to ram the nearest wearer. The arena would frequently have shows demonstrating the dino's abilities, under trained supervision off course. Life was going good for the pachys during the lifetime of Jurassic World, until the Indominus Rex's rampage and ultimate closure of the park. The Hybrid's rampage scared a horde of dinosaurs towards mainstreet, breaking through the remaining attractions including the Arena, releasing the bone headed dinosaurs. The pachys survived in the wild for years until Isla Nublar's volcano Mt. Sibo showed signs of an upcoming eruption. With the M.I.P along with the DPG organized a rescue of the park's dinosaurs. Among the pachys there was a particularly belligerent individual was given the nickname "Stiggy". Once rescued the dinosaurs were taken to Monster Island.

After arriving the dinosaur's medical needs were seen to and once properly rehabilitated they were released into the wild. The Pachycephalosaurus were released at the foot of one of the island's mountain ranges. Here they faced less competition with other herbivores of their stature and they often stay close to larger herbivores for protection. When faced with a predator like Venatosaurus, they rely on they numbers and agility to evade them but, when cornered they will not hesitate to bash their attackers with their signature heads. Today the oachy's are doing surprising well, turns out they can reproduce fairly quickly and they are starting to expand to the highlands and mountains where there's competition and predators.

Okay, seriously - just making JP's dinosaurs perfectly accurate really doesn't add much to things. C'mon, man, make 'em fucking WEIRD!

So your decision was... make them as generic as possible. Got it.
