Another one in the works. This will be the U.S.S. Blakely CA-13147. The first in her class of heavy cruiser. She's considerably smaller than the Victory and not as well armed. Her job is to provide screening against enemy destroyers and light cruisers. They also come in handy as deep range patrol ships. The first Blakely cruisers entered service in 2480, roughly 9 years before the beginning of the war in 2489. Several dozen are still under construction at the start. Along with the Victory's,, Lexington and later Sirius Class Carriers, the Blakely forms the backbone of the Alliance navy.
