Just a small update on the Talon rebuild. I've been on an extended gaming break because I wasn't sure where the hell I was going to go with her at first. I'm still kinda iffy on the ventral side, but I have a fairly solid idea of what I want for the dorsal. My last iteration, like many of my ships, relied on plating for detail. I'm going even further away from it with this. So far I've gotten a few maintenance access panels cut in as well as the access panel for her boarding ladder. Oh, and she has her main teeth mounted.

At first with this model I liked, but wasn't totally sold on the lower-slung intakes, but damn they're growing on me. Now, I know, 'why does it have intakes?'. From a lore perspective. All Alliance ships have some form of Bussard Collectors to capture free hydrogen or deuterium for use in the ship's secondary fusion reactors or the reactors that run their sublight engines. That includes fighters. Even more so as the -371A and -371C as well as their predecessor the F-365 Cobra are all capable of flight in atmosphere. A great chance to grab some extra fuel if needed. No, there won't be any glowy bits to them. The magnetic attractors are at the back of the "funnels" and pull the particles into a system that removes non-useable materials and then compresses the fuel for storage. Granted, for the most part Alliance ships don't pull in enough to use it for sustained deployments, but what they can get could be the difference between life and death out their in the black.
