The purple tone at his back suggests royalty: a "Prince of Thieves", perhaps. He was out to steal the family jewels but came away with much more than he bargained for. Yet, he became richer for the experience in that he gained compassion for others, and an infinite understanding that the people inhabiting his world are not often as they seem.

This is a beautiful photo-portrait which shows Willie Loomis in a new light.

Another example of bad-guy turns good in DS! Redemption seems to be a recurring theme. My favourite Willie moments are when he's either (a) quaking in his boots with fear or (b) straight outta Wyncliff shotgun-toting, chicken leg waving crazy! (Well, and "beaten". Everyone loves a good Willie beating!)

I loved that recurring theme of redemption.
Karlen was terrific at playing "crazy". I loved when he actually turned "chicken" and ran out the mausoleum where Tom Jennings was--leaving Barnabas to confront the vicious vampire alone! That was too funny how he just threw the stake and hammer down and turned tail and ran.

A true hero knows when to RETREAT! Good thing Barn had his "legendary" wolf's head cane. (My husband always giggled at how Barn built-up the reputation of that cane. Whacked a werewolf once & suddenly it bcomes the stuff of legends!) Tom Jennings was not a very scary vampire, but then Chris wasn't a very scary werewolf. The "twins" were more cuddly than scary.

So right, lol. In Depp's version, the silver is dispensed with because it would burn a vampire. Ah, but, original recipe Barn said the handle was made of "silver and gold"; perhaps, the effects were "neutralized" and he was able to tolerate it.

A "twin" on each arm wouldn't be a bad thing for this old gal.

Jason McGuire is my favourite! I got a mad crush on Jason. <3 And obviously I like his BFF Willie too! And Barnabas. And Elizabeth. And... almost everybody on the show!
