Description To say she was the family dog is to say my best friend is just another person in the world - this beautiful animal was truly my little friend. She was just a year old when last week a car sped through my Yerington neighborhood and hit and killed her - they never stopped or otherwise showed remorse. I look beyond that as best as I can, there’s no shock anyway, people will be people. So look her in the eyes with only little pity - she was the happiest and friendliest friend of mine, and she truly loved life (her existence was a celebration of life) - the late and loved Magpie....

A very good picture! Your dog is gorgeous --she looks like a cross between an australian shepard and a Blue Queensland Heeler. I certainly understand why you love her so much, both breeds are very intelligent dogs. I used to have a blue heeler, he passed away in 2005. So I can say from experience that yes, they are more than just dogs and I have much sympathy for you.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss (having gone through the same thing over a more gradual period of time), but all the same, this is a very nice photograph of the dog. And all the same, Magpie and you did have your moments of closeness, no? So don't forget about that.

*Don't* fuggedaboudit, no matter what.

My embalming table is still empty and waiting for the bastard in the car that took our little friend.....Now you know the true meaning of the family joke - patience is virtue, that's why I was born a vulture...........

You give me a name, and I shall provide your table with business - or the vultures a meal! Until then My deepest hatred goes out to those who disgrace and don't look back

Beautiful photo, my dear brother. I, as you, am still mad as hell about the entire situation. I still cannot believe that someone did as they did that Monday morning. Some day, people will learn to not upset an Italian family as they did us that day. The only comforting thought though, when things start to get you down.....just remember who will bury the bastard who hit her. None other, than your friendly brother - the town mortician..... Ever heard the expression - Pay backs are a bitch???

I'm sorry!! There is really nothing I can say that will make it better, but you know I am here for you. I do understand what you're going through, and I hate how people nowadays can be so cruel. No one knows how to show remorse, guilt, or even some pity. It seems that so many are being coming heartless. She was a beautiful dog, and I am sure you made her life special and very happy. She will be waiting for you in that big dog bone in the sky. I hope you fell better, and never forget her.

Thank you for your comments! I was actually thinkg of some things you've said when I posted that - but I got kind of emotional while writing the description (still mad and hurt). O' well, these things happen when you have pets - and I do plan to se her at the big bone in the sky

Thanks for your condolences, and for being there to speak with - I appriciate it! These things take a while to get past - as you know. I kind of flew off the handle in my description for her photograph... O' well - I felt better later. I was really happy with the picture, though - have another I took the same day that turned out vrey well. Again, thanks for the favorites, and words!

Awww Dena told me about that last week and I was so sad. I can't believe that person that hit hurt didn't even have the guts to pull over and try to find who she belonged to. Jules, she truly was a sweet dog. I'm going to miss her peeing all over your carpet when she sees me & Mark...and then watching Evan clean it up. Well, I hope that your dad will be ok too. She was his little buddy too. Maybe some day you can look into finding another doggie. But, now is too soon. This photograph is a great one, in that it captures her beauty and gentleness. My best regards to you and your family. The Pie will be missed.

Thank you for your condolences. I haven't the words - it is hard (didn't think I was so attached to her). These are the things that make a person strong (if they can avoid becoming homicidal). Anyway, thank you for your thoughts, and I will keep hiking the hills with a little black and white spirit by my side...

Yeah.... Of course if you ever miss having to watch someone on a hike & make sure they stay outta trouble, I could join you My hair was kinda black & white there for a while.
