Description Only one more week until winter break. Yay. I can't wait to open my Christmas presents. Anyway, I'm going to be posting an animation on Wednesday (it's not the one I've been working on.) This one's for my color theory class final. A couple of other students are doing animations too, but I think I'm the only person who hasn't taken a class in it yet. Let's see how it goes. Speaking of which, I saw the senior animation theses a couple of days ago, and I wasn't impressed. Only one of the three presented had actual animation, the other two were animatics at best. I'm planning to blow them out of the water when I'm a senior in two and a half years. It's amazing how people always say "animation is harrrrrrrrrd" but they never seem to want to do the work required for it. Really get's the old noggin joggin' and the pecans percolating.

On today's episode of Road to Realismβ„’, I had to draw six different heads. I was a little intimidated, so that's why I drew in red pen so I could draw over it if I made a mistake. But they turned out okay, so most of them are just in red. The fact that 4/6ths of them are dudes was completely coincidental, believe me. I like the profile dude's head the best, I've never been good at drawing mustaches. This is my last homework assignment for my dyanamic figure drawing class, so I hope that I don't forget how to draw like this by the next semester. I still think that I draw eyes too large though. That's what drawing anime for years will do to you I guess.

I also tried to draw someone from a photo at the bottom, instead of a painting. I've never liked drawing from a photo, so I haven't done it in a very long time, but I wanted to see if I could do it. It's not bad, but it can always be better. I did it digitally, so that's why it's a little more defined than the other heads. I didn't use any transform tools or anything either, so I guess it's all right for what it is.

I'm also going to be updating my commissions info soon, so stay tuned if you're interested in that. I'll also start going through some of my notifications over the break, so expect some inbox spam over the next couple of weeks.

That profile is awesome! And well done with the last one at the bottom. I also find that when I draw more realistic stuff my usual style stubbornly makes an appearance, but I think it's a good thing. It's what will set you apart and make your art yours if you know what I mean?Β

It's also cool to see your motivation for animation!

Yeah! I liked that profile one the best, myself. It turned out pretty well! Yeah, I get what you mean with the style thing. I just wish I could do both, lol. Maybe one day!

Animation's really fun! It's really satisfying to see your drawings move.

Dude, you really think so? Thanks man! I've really been working at it trying to get it just right. I'm hoping to get even better!
