A digital painting I created using my Wacom Pen Tablet. The Prince, from The Prince of Persia (series)It's been almost 6 months since my last upload. I have been really busy these past few months. I have a few more deviation nearing completion so keep your eyes peeled
P.S I have never played The Prince of Persia EVER !

Great rendition of Warrior Within. However... why does he have two Eagle swords? In the original it was his Eagle sword and a Lion sword.

Somehow, I don't love the face, but I can't tell you why because I'm not sure. On the other hand... I would have been unable to do this, specially because of all the details in the swords and harness. And I could never say an artwork is bad because I don't "love" a part of it, so... grat work!

Yes I spent extra long trying to make the painting as detailed as possible.
Can you tell me what it is your don't like about the face. Don't be afraid, just say what you think. Nothing will be too weird or wrong. I'm looking for all kinds of feedback.

I know, I wouldn't have told you that I don't love that face if I thought it would harm instead of giving feedback. Unfortunately, I'm simply not sure what it is. It's not badly painted, I don't think it has anything to do with the technique. I think it's simply that it doesn't look exactly like The Prince; then again, they have changed his face almost for each game of the saga, so I'm not sure that's the problem.
So, in conclusion, whatever it is, it's just some personal opinion, not a problem with the painting itself.

I used to do that myself. Try and get everything done quickly and not be patient enough to add that extra detail. I've stopped doing that now and take as much time as I need to finish my painting. It's helped my art A LOT ! XD

digital painting? i can draw a panting with photoshop, never work properly to colors chose and mouse XD.. i want to buy wacom someday...

Oh yeah it's definitely worth buying a Wacom Pen Tablet. When I first bought mine I wouldn't use it for months because I didn't know how to properly. But I got down to it and practiced everyday. It's one of my most valuable product I have bought. I'm glad I did. You should too. It will really help boost your painting abilities.

Yeah I like the colours too. I had to go with this colour scheme to match the sandy atmosphere of the games. It took quite a while to finish. But that's mainly because I was working on it from time to time and not all in one setting.

The visuals are the only thing going for it. Trust me. If you have played say... Assassin's Creed, then you have played Prince or Persia's very talented, much loved cousin. LOL

hahah exactly! So did you draw the painting first, or did you do it all on the PC?

Well I sketched the thing out on my iMac in Photoshop. Then I blocked in the tones in black and white and after that was done I blocked in a few colours in a 'colour' layer and then went into detail on it. It's the same technique I use on all my digital paintings. I may create a W.I.P for this to show my workflow.

haha i am too technologically dislexic for digital painting. I draw and color (either watercolor or prismacolor markers) then scan in and add the textures and change the lighting. Much easier for me. I deeply revere any artist who does everything on the computer.

I actually think the more difficult to master is traditional art like you do. I could never do that. I make too many mistakes, and with computers there's always the option of undo-ing an action. With watercolours you only have one shot ! Kudos to YOU for being patient and precise !
