Lol. If you can't get fedora working, then arch for sure won't work Just kidding, give it a go.
The bottom task bar is called tint2. You can get it from the google code website, just search tint2, and dl src and compile yourself, or once you get arch, its available in aur. Then from there you can configure it to your needs

well, i can get it working, the problem is that the install CD was messed up so the yum reposetories were currupt and i couldnt change the sudoers file because the root was also curropt. no telling what ELSE is currupted ive used Arch before and its a great distro. Nice, small, pro (btw, i CAN install from source, just to lazy thats the only reason i would use YUM)
