I've been wanting to try to make my own Animated Doll of some sort. This is my first try at making an animated doll like this, so any critique will really help!Finn the Human; Adventure Time (c) Pendleton Ward

Honestly? I know this is supposed to be cute but you went WAY over board with the blush. And also the way he is moving up and down looks a bit like street fighter so why not make a simple fighting pose with his fist streched out while his left arm is bended and ready to strike next, something along those lines, considering this is one of your first it is a very good animation but at the same time finns eye are also a BIT too far apart hopefully you take this as constructive criticism and take half of this into acount next time, Great work, your really talented.

The far apart eyes might not change because its part of the way I draw and its part of my own personal style but I do take most of the criticism that I get to heart and do attempt to make the proper changes and adjustments to get better.

The pixel art itself is really nice, I love the colours even though the mirror shading on the feet and legs looks strange. It makes it appear as if there is a light between his feet.
One thing I HIGHLY dislike is the animation... but this is not your fault alone. I am against these bobby motions because there is no real animation to them. all that you (and many others) have done is selected the top two thirds of the picture and dropped it two pixels or so. It deforms the legs, don't even really bend at the knee and thus gives a distorted yet not very cute look. When animating. Try to really animate something. Start small.

it's understandable that you don't like the animation. I like the style personally, but everyone has a personal preference. And with the shading I guess it's something to work on. My advice would be to avoid the awkwardness of just moving the image half up or down because it creates weird bends. Instead if you do that and the few lines of pixels are going to look strange, just move the legs in or out to match and it wont look as weird anymore :3

I love the colors you did on them and the shading is so well done I love it and am amazed of the wonderful art you made. I see a bunch of Adventure Time Fanart but this one is by the farthest the most unique and my favorite! i'd write a cirtuque but i dont have a lot to say. i really like ur line art!!! it's really nice and clean!!! the colouring is kinda weird i dont really like the colours u chose for shading. and so is the movment it jsut messes up the anatomy?? u coulda made his whole body move up and down that wouldve been nicer uwu

I used to be like that but I learned that when you ask for criticism, you take it, no matter I it's bad or good.

There is no consistent lightsource, you should work on your anatomy and contrary to popular deviantArt believe, moving something 2 pixels up and down is not proper animation. Don't fall for overly sweet critique, if you're going to want to improve you should probably get a more serious crowd than deviantArt, try pixeljoint or pixelation.

I'm aware of the animation thing. ouo And my style is very off of anatomy naturally, so its supposed to look like that.

Are you sure that's a style? You shouldn't make concessions in your art because it feels comfortable. I really do like the eyes by the way.

Well, I don't understand why you would use this style that in my opinion doesn't look very good when you can do much MUCH better (I've looked at your gallery).
Also, you've been extremely graceful in taking my critique, so I think I should thank you for that (since most people really don't, especially on dA)!

Its supposed to be chibi style, but I guess I have no argument for it seeing as I do draw chibis with proper anatomy sometimes. I'll just have to remember to look at it before I begin to color and make proper adjustments if needed. >u<
And your welcome. I used to be very rude about people critiquing my stuff before, but I've learned to handle it with a bit more maturity since a lot of the time the things people were telling me did help me in the end. But I'm guessing not many people realize that.
