After knowing Buck-Tick (one of my favorite band) make song for new series of anime called Shiki
I really curious about it and start to watch the show and after that fall in love with the chara design from this series
(okay, now I got addicted with Shiki after Umineko)
I start to thinking make some fanart from this series and finish this one
All done with my drawing pen for lineart, SAI and Photoshop CS like usual for coloring
This pic originally draw in A3 paper so it's kinda make me confuse again when scan it like I did in my work of 'My Wonderland' ^^"
and this is my first time not drawing the eyes hahahahahaha.... creepy
but well I'm glad can finish this pic in my style specially her hair (my favorite part XD)

The title come from Tatakau Shinsho OP by ALI PROJECT
I got inspiration for this pic after hearing that song ^___^
and btw, the japanese character in the bottom is lyrics from Shiki OP 'Kuchizuke'

I started to watch it only because of GACKT... But I love the art and the way the plot is thickening. Can't wait for that damned hiatus to be over *grumble*

well, can say it's Higurashi clone, but not really for psycho thing hahahaha
after all, it feels like see dracula movie XD
and this series like an exception for me to watch cause I actually HATE horror genres...
but I dunno, I really curious about this series since the illustrator is Ryu Fujisaki, my favorite mangaka that make Hoshin Engi and Sakuratetsu's Dialogue and the story writer is Fuyumi Ono that famous with her horror and supernatural novels like a Ghost Hunt. I wonder how can they do collab wor,k specially since Ryu Fujisaki have interesting style with his chara design LOL
and it's seems they are success ^___^

First off, thanking you for telling us about Shiki. ^^
Just from glancing at its ANN and Wiki entries, it sounds suspiciously like a Higurashi clone -- whether it is or not, it's a good excuse to watch it too. After all, if Haya-chama says it's good, it IS good! ^__^b
I might have to say more once I watch the series, but for now I'll judge the art for what it is (though at least I found out this girl is called Sunako Kirishiki). ^^
Detail-wise there are no complaints. You opted for an Anime cel-shade look, so it's not as detailed as some of the official art or fanarts I've seen, but it's certainly a lot cleaner and looks faster to draw (and besides, since this is fanart of the ANIME, it should look the part, eh?). ^^
The dress is also a little simpler than your usual stuff, but that's the studio's fault for not hiring you as the chara designer, lol. ^.^
Hair flow is absolutely gorgeous (probably the greatest part of the picture) and her face, while it creeps me out, is rather hypnotic. It's a funky mixture of moe and creepiness that's almost like eating a spicy-sweet snack -- you'd think it'd taste horrible, but the two contrasting flavors compliment nicely. ^___^
Background has to be simple and muted to go with the surrealism, but it's nice to see you included some pockets of ultra-detail, like the red lettering by her legs. W^^
All in all, this is a great piece, and a good advertisement for the series! ^___^b
As for the song....
haha... yeah, I wouldn't have guessed from the disjointed wailing neo-opera that it was by ALI PROJECT. */sarcasm*
But there are some songs I love from that group, especially they're older and newer "mellow" tunes. ^__^
In fact, my favorite ALI PROJECT song is Mizuki Kyouka. If that song were food, it would be like the sweetest honey or even agave... *happy sigh* ^-^

Either way, I'll try to get it tonight now that I finally have some free time. ^.^

And the Horror genre isn't my favorite either, but I kinda like it. Just sad there aren't many good horror anime, although it's a bit hard with the format (generally-speaking, the more "real" the media looks, the easier time it has being scary -- so games like Penumbra and Silent Hill 2 can end up being more scary than anime, movies or books).
haha, and you see that collabs work wonders even in the professional world. ^^b

Actually, for my gift to you I want to strike a healthy balance between simplicity (as in my old vector style) and super-detail (inspired by your hand-detailed works). I definitely want you to be proud of it.
fufu, you know that in all my years using Photoshop and the few years using GIMP, I never once used an alternate brush in my works....
I get the concept of how they work, but I never really felt compelled to use them... I rather draw my own BGs and patterns.
Well maybe one day I'll convert.
