Definitely loved the whole thing, and as of yet I don't really have anything as far as improvements go. I'm only just excited for more! ^_^
Also, the scene inspired me to dig a little bit more to find some of your old works. Particularly the introduction of Meri. I must say that while I love Slydragoon's work, you're quite the capable story teller in your own right. Even back then you were able to craft some pretty engaging stories.
The only thing I'll say is I wonder if there's gonna be exact connections to previous stories or if you plan on redacting the lore a little bit. Either way I love the little nods to the previous work you've put in. and I can't wait for more. Will keep looking through it tomorrow most likely. Take care!

We won't refer back to old work 100% as they were produced mainly for the purpose of PMD-e, which is already closed down. We will definitely have some linkage, though, like Tao is Oat in Tales of Elysium.
I don't really have an introduction to Meri, the closest being the backstory of The Masked, which you've already read. I do have a backstory for Noir, though. We might, however, change it, but it is still good to kinda see how I pictured him as a character, I guess.

Alright I appreciate the clarification. My apologies for it shutting down, I just thought at first you guys had moved on.
As far as Meri, I don't think it goes much further than meeting her as an egg, except maybe how it came to be there, so I'd say The Masked was her backstory. I really appreciate the backstory for Noir too. Though many of your stories have really dark moments most of the time it all resolves with a happy or hopeful ending. That's not a bad thing because it makes sense with those stories. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the somber ending for Noir's story.
I really do appreciate the responses and I'm sorry if I'm drowning you and Sly in comments. I just want to try and provide some different perspective where possible, on top of enjoying the work. Take care as always and thanks again.

I really love the way you do the background and the character art. Β I'm thinking I'll try to test out the way of drawing trees as well, have you thought about doing a tutorial on the different ways you draw backgrounds Haychel? Β For one thing I know I would us it A LOT!

I think you're drawing style work out fine, and I like your background filled with Forest trees and line colors. I don't draw the background with a traditional drawing very often, all I do just designing the characters and a no color manga. ^_^"
