Description Snakeman12 rendition of this more obscure Slavic deity. Belobog is the light counterpart of Chernobog and is basically god of the day, nature and overall good vibes.

Chernobog is very much the Satan of the Slavic pantheon. God of the night, chaos and overall bad vibes.

He was still worshipped by some however, both out of fear and without darkness and evil, there is no light and good.

Best example: Chernobog is the fires that ravage a forest and kill off the animals, while Belobog is the now fertile soil that, we the ashes from the dead plants and animals, regrows stronger than before.

Like I said, it’s usually two reasons:

1.) out of fear of being killed

2.) a sense of balance. The good cannot exist without the bad and those who do not fear cruel gods worship them to maintain that balance. Without evil, good has nothing to fight against and the world stays stagnant.
