Description A sample comic page I put together. Inspired by a scene in the novel 'the way of the shadows' by Brent Weeks. Excellent book.

I have to agree with you, somehow what was in my head just didn't make it to the page on this one.

I'm guessing its the First scene where Azoth's under the floor boards right?
I like your rendition of Durzo, looking a bit weathered and all that.
All the other versions are either making him looking too young for my liking or they seem to drawing him using Anime style.
Great work, I really like this, are you looking to do any more?

That's the scene, well spotted.

I've been on a bit of a break from art for a while now so nothing planned at the moment.

Glad you enjoyed it especially as someone who has read the book.

nice and clean with a bit of grit. nice panel flow makes it effortless to follow the story. it's a success.

Cheers man Glad you like the lines. Artrage3 pens with 10% smoothing. As close to real pen marks as I've found

Thanks

I'm terrible for startigng and not finishing books so if you're looking for something that is a page turner 'the way of shadows' is a good one. My fave of all time is 'Sword in the Storm' By David Gemmell though.

Looks good. I would play with some gradients in the future to get the same background effect I was going for.
Good luck.

Thanks Rorke. I'm going to continue making more samples so I'll go for that with the next ones. I realise this page is lacking background and full character shots. That last panel the guys head could do with a bit more space for his brain It has been a lot of fun to do. I realsie I miss making sequential work. About ten years ago I worked on a small press comic to completion, back when I didn't do digital.

Is this a sample for the Iron Horse (name?) Comic sample that Rorke was talking about?
Looks pretty good M8
I'm still working on mine

Yeah, I sent it off as a sample. Was a lot of fun to do. Been so long since I've made sequentials. I think there is still plenty of time and he is still considering options. I'm going to work on some more as it is an area I don't have any up to date samples of in my portfoilio at the moment. Well I have one now.

I thought you were working on a sample yourself when I saw your panel in the daily sketchbook. Good action and perspective in that one.

Yup I was.
I haven't done anything with it since the last posting at IFX ^^
I was going to work on it tonight but some graphic design work came over the wire so I'll have to do it later.
Yours looks purty good. I like the expressions on their faces.
