Description Bengal Tiger

As you have no doubt guest I absolutely adore the big cats but not quite as much as the primates especially the Orang-utan.

The tiger (Panthera tigris) is a member of the Felidae family; the largest and the most powerful of the four "big cats" in the genus Panthera.[4] Native to much of eastern and southern Asia, the tiger is an apex predator and an obligate carnivore. Reaching up to 4 metres (13 ft) in total length and weighing up to 300 kilograms (660 pounds), the larger tiger subspecies are comparable in size to the biggest extinct felids.[5][6] Aside from their great bulk and power, their most recognizable feature is the pattern of dark vertical stripes that overlays near-white to reddish-orange fur, with lighter underparts. The largest subspecies of tiger is the Siberian tiger.

Beautiful the big cats its a crying shame that there natural habitat is being destroyed by man.. with the added irony that man is also trying to preserve them!!

I just love the blend of colours throughout the fur, very well done to get this shot as I know the difficulty of photographing the tigers in these surroundings

His royal stripiness does not look bemused.
I like how his eyes are firmly focussed and his radar ears are also tuned in, but behind him.
Beautiful sharp capture of those stunning colours and fur detail.
