Hey this is a really awesome model and the Topology looks really nice.
I am using it as a guide with a model of my own at the moment.

I have a quick question regarding the elbow. Where the Jacket meets the skin is it a separate mesh or not? I looks as if it is but I'm currently struggling with topology and clothing at the moment.

Rubi Malone would've looked cooler if she had a slightly smaller and tighter top with looser pants on. Its sort of a general rule that if you're trying to go sexy whilst retaining the "badass" look you can only make half of the model revealing/suggestive/sexy and have to cover up the other half. Think women with a big loose jacket and tiny short shorts or a women with big loose pants and a bikini as a top.

Thank you for posting the wireframes! There's so much to learn from good topology and techniques you can only see with the wireframe on. <3

Just came across this model today and I really like it that her pose has some 'weight' to it...a problem I have when I make characters standing...I can't seem to figure out what it is...any tips???
thanks

Hey thanks, just study very well made figurines. Look at them from all angles and do your best to emulate whats happening.

Great.Did you create the hair clumps in Zbrush or you modeled them traditionally?

Is the "relief" from a bump map ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HazardousArts In reply to Dorshiffe [2011-12-14 22:29:07 +0000 UTC]

A normal map

phixgrrrl [2011-10-12 19:57:23 +0000 UTC]

Did you use zbrush?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HazardousArts In reply to phixgrrrl [2011-10-15 05:39:56 +0000 UTC]

to sculpt the high yes to create this low poly, no.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

phixgrrrl In reply to HazardousArts [2011-10-16 09:48:04 +0000 UTC]

It looks like there is geometry where there are no corresponding wires. Is that due to normal mapping?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HazardousArts In reply to phixgrrrl [2011-10-20 20:28:40 +0000 UTC]

nah just some dodgy wireframe display in max

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

phixgrrrl In reply to HazardousArts [2011-10-24 04:06:15 +0000 UTC]

Oh..no I meant like where there are folds in the fabric for example--it looks like sculpting but no wires are there. I haven't modeled in a while so maybe I'm missing something obvious.

Really nice wireframe! I modell too and I'm having a bit of trouble of getting a good egdeflow, so thanks to this I have a good reference to look at.

wow, nice work! how did u merge the poly of the head and the neck? As I see the faces on her head are more than the neck

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HazardousArts In reply to Ardinaryas [2011-08-24 07:11:59 +0000 UTC]

THanks! I just collapsed some of the edges right where the neck meets the head
