I still don't super love this bc I'm a lot more confident about my way more cartoony style, but i like the little splotches--which, by the way, are meant to resemble how leaves of certain trees can get "applerust," and it destroys them from the inside out. More or less.

so that's what those splotches are; they're little flashes of the things that are tearing the party apart, slowly, from the inside out.

From left to right, the party as of the time this art was made:

Furia Tutela: (played by Storm) the ranger-wizard air genasi. She's much more confident and comfortable around the crew now, and finds safety in her battlepartnership with Pariv. (Also, soon after this drawing, he did a special magic that let her borrow his wings. She was psyched.) She's becoming surprisingly charismatic; not in ability score, but in empathy. Once the crew breaks Finny and their other-plane selves out of wacky god prison, Furia makes an extended effort to reach out to her other self, which is more than everyone else can say. (Excluding only Cabhan, who is an exception for most things, actually.) She learns Dancing Lights from Finny and, with knowledge from a spellbook she'd had for a while, her magic spiraled into something she's now very proud of. Still, she struggles with what some may call too much empathy--or maybe too much guilt. She swears they can save Finny's son (Neser, a little boy who Furia loved very much but forgot when her memories were erased for season one. he's now GOD, and he's pissed), but she keeps all her feelings about him to herself, locking it up for fear of hurting the people around her.

Pariv Nunvirten: (played by Loxley, my spouse) the cleric-barbarian turned cleric-artificer. He's a silver dragonborn. His grandmother, Nala (who is the goddess of time now, long story) offered him a re-spec to better serve his team, who he is all too ready to die for. The re-spec actually happened immediately after I drew this, actually, so his new, lankier form is not reflected here. Pariv, by now, has come into a position much more comfortable for him, and he plays the part of the shaman for his tiny five-person tribe, which he much prefers to his old one.. He and Furia are battlepartners now, which means they'll protect each other no matter what and always have each others' backs; a far cry from their relationship in season one.

Finnaela Raegan: (NPC, but part of the crew from before they lost their memories and now a part of their tribe) the tanky sorcerer high elf. She was forced by Jack, their previous boss (and Mary, that bosses' right hand man--arguably worse for Finny) into a 'training' which pulled her down to 1 or 2 hit points for the purpose of building up her 'endurance.' Now she has 450 hit points and she's expected (by Jack and Mary alone) to sacrifice that health to heal her team, no matter how hurt she is, and no matter how healthy they are. After the chaos and hurt of season 1, Finny doesn't trust the crew as much as she tells herself she does, and she's prone to panicking and jumping to conclusions. Pariv is working hard to undo some of her learned mentalities (some examples being what is practically her mantra: "I love them, and I trust them, so if they hurt me, it must be for the best." That little gem was given to her by the abusive friend she traveled with for 30 years) and Furia's doing the same, albeit more subtly. Slowly, things are getting better.

Erdan Liaden: (played by Drake) the rogue-paladin wood elf. He's now come into his place on the team as the 'chief' of their tribe. The title is mostly sentimental, but still. He struggles with being a leader often feels he's fallen short of what the team needs, but he's trying damn hard. Also, as he learned once everyone regained their memories, he used to be the guard on their crew, and he continues to fulfill this role. He's trying to overcome his alcohol addiction (which is not made easy by the infinite wine goblet i gave him in one of the first ever sessions), but with the apocalypse happening and the weight of the world on his team's shoulders, it's not exactly a smooth ride. (A couple sessions after this drawing, he fell in love with a kraken--the goddess of lies. He then dumped her like three sessions later because she kept terrorizing his friends lol. Now he's Heartbroken :tm

Cabhan Leafson: (played by Cameron) the druid-monk eladrin elf. Season two started off strong for him but it's quickly going downhill. He shares a room now with his other-self, who he gets along fairly well with. He's impulsively adopted a young elven boy named Div, who got a job in the resistance cafeteria and often cooks with Cabhan when they both have the time. Cabhan clings to his comic relief bit for as long as he can, but the further we proceed into the post-apocalyptic world actively working against them even as they try to save it, the more often he finds himself faced with a grey area of morality that he can't quite reconcile with his previously near-permanent smile. He makes some hard choices. It's only the beginning.

I love them all so much.
