In the Riseverse, N'Kantu is Temihop, a Meridinate wizard that was killed by Nerissa, but was brought back to life by Queen Elyon using the Book of Lide and Death. Jennifer Kale then covered Temihop in mummy bandages and put him in a sarcophagus. Temihop then used his powers to shift into a corpse-like state, and when Jennifer Kale arrived on Earth, she sold Temihop to the San Fransokyo Museum of History as "the mummified remains of the ancient pharaoh N'Knatu". Thus, with the world believing him to be dead, Temihop decided to join Jennifer Kale's team of superheroes, the Midnight Sons. Having grown fond of the charade he put, he decided to reivent himself as the superhero N'Kantu the Living Mummy, using his magical powers to hunt down vampires, werewolves, demons, zombies and other monsters.

Worked out nice someone requested that I cover the Bloodstone limited series with the Living Mummy, Dracula and the Frankenstein Monster just before Halloween. A lot of fans of the Living Mummy out there.

I actually hunted down his old series before they collected it in Essential Marvel Horror. Really cool, tragic character. I loved when he popped up during the Bloodstone Hunt.

Except they dumbed-him down a little for the Bloodstone limited series, same with Frankenstein.

Well I guess being a preserved corpse can take a toll on the old thinker when your a mummy.
I thought Frankenstein actually acted smarter than he used to. He never used to speak before and most times he seemed like a big child in his previous experiences. Sort of like a calmer, mute hulk rather than someone smart enough to caretake things and carry on a conversation.

I didn't really care for the characterization in the Bloodstone limited series, like the point you made about Frankenstein.
And totally off topic, did you here D-Man is gonna be one of Osborn's new Dark Avengers?

You know what, maybe he's part of the Revengers... it's suppose to be a team of former Avengers, so that makes more sense.

Yeah that would make more sense. It's supposed to be a team made up of people wronged by the Avengers.

Wasn't a huge Marvel horror buff, but loved when characters like N'Kantu the Living Mummy turned up in Spider-Man or Marvel-Two-In-One.
