Description Sooo... this is my first piece in preparation for a local doujinshi convention coming up later on in the month. This took me about 5 days of work to complete this - 8 if you don't exclude the gap days I spent doing... other non-illicit things. >:3

Quite alot of ghosting does indeed exist (it's not that hard to see), but what's done is done. D:

The likelihood of me colouring - or even digitising it, for that matter - remain slim as I'm pretty much fucked for time right now. With the convention coming up in less than a month, I have to churn out as many pieces as I can within that timeframe.

I'll give it a tidy when I'm a little less drunk on disgusting flavoured vodka.

EDIT: Cleaned and tidied to an acceptable standard.

EDIT2: I finally got it through an A3 scanner. ALSO, I'M CURRENTLY IN THE MIDST OF DIGITISING IT. [link]

Yes, I do realise that it's cropped at the sword, but that's all I could go to on the sketchbook.

I knew it is MG, haha..

nice illustration..you accept criticism right...this one's in a good way...the left GN condenser on the head is kinda out of proportion..that is all....

HCP-RedSync In reply to Aruvinu [2010-09-20 12:16:41 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the head was pretty out of proportion, but I had to rush this due to preparing for an upcoming convention around the time. Some time after said convention, I started working on this digitally and still am. It's one of the things that I plan to fix in the final edit.

Thanks for pointing it out, anyway. XD

Hmm... I'd love to offer some help just to be a part of this, but I'm afraid that I won't have the time to do so until November, since I have university and exams to prepare for, not to mention the two personal projects that I'm trying to work on right now.

If you're timing's flexible though, then we'll talk. XD

a non-commission artwork..

and some ideas on how to make a story...

HCP-RedSync In reply to Aruvinu [2010-09-23 03:29:56 +0000 UTC]

Meh... come back to me closer to the time that you want this done, and I'll have thought about it by then. I'm a little hesitant about doing grand-scale requests at this stage, be it paid or not, since I feel that I need time to refine my style a little bit more.

As for ideas for a story... I'm not too sure what I could do in that area. I'm not really that great in that sort of creative field, after all. XD

there's that non-commission artwork by twsfreedom, look for it to have an idea of what I'm requesting you...thanks

HCP-RedSync In reply to Aruvinu [2010-09-23 10:06:53 +0000 UTC]

So... do you want me to do just pics of a canon Gundam, or do you want me to make an "original" one like the one TWSFreedom did? :\

Aruvinu In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-09-23 10:16:36 +0000 UTC]

have you seen his Tharros Suit non-commission artwork?

its weapons were made by tws, that's what my request would look like dude...
I wish you can help me do some designs for weapons...

HCP-RedSync In reply to Aruvinu [2010-09-23 10:41:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I had a look at some of his stuff. If you want me to give you rough designs of weapons and possibly refine them after given the go-ahead, then I'll most likely do it for free. If you want me to do a full-bodied mecha pic, chances are, I'm going to have to charge commission fees for it, I'm afraid. I spend a fair amount of time doing full frame pics, after all.

in what country particularly?

I'm so glad to know that I have a chance to cooperate to a non-commission artwork with you...

I live in New Zealand. XD

Also, are you only concerned with the weaponry on my side, or do you want me to do more than that?

Aruvinu In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-09-23 11:12:21 +0000 UTC]

will it be fine for you if I ask for a little more? just a little...

it's just the add-ons like backpacks....I'll be in charge of the transformation don't worry...
I wish you are seeing 0-raiser as my idea

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HCP-RedSync In reply to Aruvinu [2010-09-23 12:03:13 +0000 UTC]

I'm gonna need more information than that, like, is there a specific style (or mobile suit, for that matter) that I need to keep it to? Are there any specific dimensions and/or proportions that I need to worry about? That's going to help me decide whether or not I charge commission fee. You see, when you said weapons, I initially thought you meant weapons like hand-wielded swords, busters, etc., not necessarily full-blown backpacks. XD

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention ages ago - have a look at my profile to see if you still think I'm suitable for the job. Not saying anything about my work, I just want you to be sure. XD

Aruvinu In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-09-23 12:57:54 +0000 UTC]

ok here the info

those backpacks are called DOMINIZERs, the one was called Dominizer-YVRN(Wyvern)

it's an upgrade for Arcturion Suit (see my gallery)
it is capable to fight while in flight form and warrior form(YVRN will be needing a human host to be in this form). If equipped on Arcturion Suit's back, it can buff Arcturion's speed, power, and can grant it with some skills...

when in weapon form, it transforms into a buster cannon capable of firing scattered beams to make up to its poor accuracy since it's something Arcturion lacks.

I take care of the other forms' designs, it's the flight form design that is important.
so, is that fine with you buddy?

Hmm... come back to me closer to when you actually need it done. I'll need some time to think about it and to sort out my prior arrangements, as I mentioned before.

I'll see what I can do in the meantime, though. It may not be much, just so you know, but again, we'll see. XD

There's nothing to teach you as far as details go here since I pretty much just fanart'd something using the exact same features. D:

Ycobb In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-07-05 07:45:57 +0000 UTC]

Well I was copying someone else's general style with my robot masters.
With Metalman, at least.

HCP-RedSync In reply to Ycobb [2010-07-05 09:08:30 +0000 UTC]

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ycobb In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-07-05 15:23:17 +0000 UTC]

They were just what the details.. evolved (I guess) into. Honestly, I didn't do a very good job copying. The only real detail I stole was something to do with Metalman's chest. But the general idea of 'super detailed robot masters' came from elsewhere. I also took some ideas for Quickman, and based my eyes on his.
The details from me, honestly, are mostly rectangles and generic rivets :V

HCP-RedSync In reply to Ycobb [2010-07-06 03:41:43 +0000 UTC]

I see... I'd say that it's a point in articulation, then. In regards to my own articulation skills, what I did with the earlier Joan Rivers-esque version of Echostratum was just to slap whatever little design or thing that came to mind, just to make it look like an overdetailed-abomination-cum-masterpiece. I guess that I see your details as being more proportionate and... relevant, if you will, to each other, giving it a better quality of flow, or smoothness to it when I compare it to mine. However, though, I think that, ultimately, it's really just up to how we perceive appropriate "detail" for the situation and how we actually relate each and every detail together, which very well could differ between the two of us.

Relational thinking, methinks. :V

Ycobb In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-07-06 15:26:06 +0000 UTC]

I just slap detail onto it too, but I'm too lazy to overdo it :V

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HCP-RedSync In reply to Ycobb [2010-07-07 06:38:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, but your details manage to seem as if they are overdetailed WITH some sort of cohesion amongst themselves. Mine, on the other hand, tend to be all over the place, if you get what I mean. >.>

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ycobb In reply to HCP-RedSync [2010-07-07 15:40:28 +0000 UTC]

I thought your details on the Transformers seemed to fit perfectly, at least in context of how the old transformers (in that style, of course) were done.

I guess it's just a case of everyone hating their own style.
