Heh, with how many Dark Lords are dropping dead with Lina around, I can't really blame Dynast if he decides to stay the hell away from her. Anyone who can summon 'Mother' and actually manage to come out of it intact (even if it was from pure luck), is someone best to avoid until they die from old age. THEN you can wreck hell and havock.

Hm... about that, I wonder if having a piece of Shabranigdou makes you live longer? The only example I know about is Rezo, and hey, it could only be because he experiments with magic and so on.
I´d stay away too if I were Dynast, though he doesn´t heed that calling. Not to be a spoiler, but he does try to make the same move as Phibrizzo did. Read the Novels!

Unfortunately, TokyoPop quit translating the novels about halfway through the series. XC So all my knowledge of Slayer-verse 1 (the novels timeline), is coming from the internet. And...wait, he really tried the same thing Phibby did? Wow, crowning moment of stupid. Or crazy.
Right, Lina's one of the seven hosts in Verse 1, isn't she? But how does that work, what with her invoking LoN's power as she does? I mean, Mazoku can't invoke power from a tier higher than they are. And LoN is as high as you can go. By that idea, Lina shouldn't be able to invoke LoN's power thanks to Shabby lurking in her. *is confused*
(PS: Yay, Slayers lore! This makes me very happy. )

Yeah, what a bummer. TokyoPop could have at least finished the whole series.
There´s fan-translated novels online. I don´t remember the sites at the moment. :C
Well, he didn´t try the same thing as making Lina summon the Giga Slave, but more in the direction of destroying the world himself instead of making someone else do it for him. You get the thing. It´s very masukuish.
Lina´s one of the seven hosts, at least from how Milgazia hints to it in both the anime and the manga. A bit unsure how he phrases it in the novel. Even the Revolution/Evolution-R manga makes a more obvious statement of it.
As for how LoN´s power work for Lina when hosted by Ruby Eye I have no idea. My theory though is that she can draw her power from her human side, not Ruby Eye´s piece. Dark magic is only empowered by him. Lina can use white magic as well as shamanic. So I suppose Lina, as a sorceress was able to draw from LoN because she was human. Also, I guess the Demon Blood Talisman helped her out a lot the second time around. As for when she defeated Ruby Eye in the first series I guess the reason was because she had a device for channeling the Giga Slave, the Sword of Light. It also drained all her powers, as you remember her hair turned all white. (Lina´s short period of albinism! ) Which make this a slightly problemematic to understand because in the novel, Lina tells us how many times she practiced the Giga Slave near where she lives, turning the bay to vast destruction. Reall, I had to read this twice to really comprehend it. O.o I really thought they´d misspelled it for the Dragon Slave, but no. Wrongo. At least it makes Lina´s shock much more impacting when she figured out whose power she drew the spell from. Haha.. ha...

One would think, but now that they're bankrupt, and their US branch has shut down... XC
Ah, I see. Destroying the world isn't all that surprising. It's kinda the Mazoku's job, so yeah. I thought you meant he tried to make Lina summon LoN again. That wouldn't have been too brilliant.
Wasn't she casting an incomplete version of the spell in the early series? She didn't know the source of the power, so it didn't have quite the same 'risking the universe to save the world' properties it does in the later series. It was only after the Clair Bible incident that she seemed to really understand the true aspects of the spell that it seemed to gain the major threats it has.
*reads the part about the bay of destruction* ...I keep hearing that she destroyed a bay or a mountain with that spell. Now I'm not sure which source to trust. *is confused* And if she was able to PRACTICE it with out destroying the world...seriously Lina. Yeesh.
Something about the Giga Slave tells me it's not a spell just anyone can cast. What with Lina being able to cast both Giga Slave and Ragna Blade...I dunno. I just can't help but wonder if she's marked by LoN somehow. *shrugs* Ah well, theorizing is fun anyway.
