Sometimes you see a picture, fave it, and then forget it, because it's just one among thousands of favourites.
By contrast, I never forgot this one. I faved the first version a long time ago and it is still one of my favourite pictures I discovered in nearly 2 years here on deviantART.
As I consider the new critique function as a very useful concept for artists, I decided to have a closer look to find out why I like it so much.
By showing the freshness of pouring rain, the image makes me think of the pleasant smell after the clouds stopped to free their tears. It's a feeling of newness, it's the "sunshine after the rain", even when the sun isn't visible at all.
The young plant, presented by a hand that has cleverly been placed, supports this feeling and an utterly pleasant sentiment is arising while I look at it. A sentiment that is so overwhelming that I would like to print the picture and hang it up on my wall, to be able to have a look at it every day when i wake up.
