This is a very unique photograph, with a great amount of impact created on any viewer. The rose as such (slightly withered as I see it) gives the image a lone feeling which is multiplied by the faded look of the photograph.
The music book adds another element of focus which here old and faded helps to signify the lone effect of the photography and gives focus on to the rose which is the only colored element.
