Very surreal! The waves of light contrast spectacularly with the subject in a few ways, and it's well executed. The way he's standing aloof suggests that he's unaware of the light around him, almost as if it's ethereal; invisible to him.

For those reasons, I believe this to be a very well composed exposure. The crop is tight around the waves while keeping the subject in a pleasing position (thirds). The waves serve as a sort of leading lines towards his face and body, while still remaining soft and angelic. Also, the choice of color (or lack of) here works very well. And the focus, while not perfectly sharp, helps to 'submerge' him in the waves.

All in all, this is a beautiful photo. =]
